The source said, “The low rank last year galvanised India to act. There was an explicit order from the PM (Narendra Modi) to ensure faster reforms to improve India’s rankings.” India was ranked a poor 130 overall last year, up by just one place from 131 the previous year. On the future prospects for India, the source said, “If India maintains this momentum, it can jump to a rank in double digits next year,” adding that Mumbai and Delhi — the two cities covered in the Report — had responded well to the government’s call for improvement. The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion systematically worked with the line ministries and State governments to “get things done on the ground”, the source said.

"Earlier, the right-wing Hindus employed debates, and not force, against people of other religions. Having realised that their attempts are failing, they have started using violence," he wrote. "This is not a victory or a sign of progress. If we start believing that force will prevail and not truth, then we will all turn into violent beasts," he wrote. In his column, Kamal was replying to a question posed by Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan who had sought the actor's opinion on "the attempt by Hindutva forces to infiltrate into Tamil Nadu."

He also claimed that the Modi government will not be able to equal the UPA government's 10-year average growth rate."To equal the UPA's 10-year average, the economy will have to grow at 10.6 per cent in the fifth year. I would be happy if this were to happen, but frankly, I don't think this will happen," Singh quipped. Singh bling 1
