Should Suresh Raina be given another chance in test team?

I dont think he has issue in tests, just on grounds of technique. He is not just a blind Afridiesque slogger. Looking at the state of our current test team where Murali is best batsman, I still think there is a hope for him. If he can work on his temperament we will have a okish test batsman in our side

I have a feeling Raina and Rohit Sharma will help us retain the Border - Gavaskar trophy this time. Haters (read Lord) can hate :giggle:

Why not Gautam Gambhir? Poor guy goes to England and been benched in all the matches till now. He can do a better job than Dhawan overseas due to his superior technique. Team badly needs him in 4th test.

Murali is not our best batsman.Pujara/Kohli/Rahane have a case. Raina has nothing going for him.not a great FC record,no recent performances in long format.Not even good record in overseas ODIs to show hes got some technique for Tests.you cant by IPL and ODIs for Tests. As SLICKR said,someone like Jadhav who actually scored runs in FC would be feeling cheated

he wasnt benched all the time.played last 2 Tests and didnt look good:((

Virat, Dhawan and Raina have all similar FC records. And it was Raina who started on a debut 100 and was considered our most promising test player then. He is in good form, shown some improvements in batting and deservedly is in the squad.

Don't know the exact numbers,but I'm sure Kohli has much better record than Raina. Dhawan has similar numbers but hes an opener so cant compare with Raina Simply put,there are better options for middle order than Raina. Hes shown improvements in ODIs,hasnt even play longer format to show improvement in that.Should have played A tour to Aus if they were thinking about him

Even Kohli struggles in tests. Infact all our batters struggle in test overseas. Why so much doubt for Raina. Dada was pathetic at short balls but still he retired with very decent figures
How did Kohli struggle? Scored in Aus, SA, NZ, only failed in England. You are bound to fail somewhere. We had 3 back to back overseas tough which was really tough on these young lads. They passed it in SA and NZ, started well in England too, but could not last because it was a long series and they were not used to it.
