gakgupta Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Praveen Kumar might not be a dangerous bowler but had it in him to represent india for a longer period of time in all the formats....He was very skillful bowler and had good head over his shoulder....I have seen his spell against CSK in teh recently concluded IPL and he was easily the best swing bowler in sub-continent (lot better than kulasekara) .... Only if he had worked on his attitude and would have been shown more commitment, he would have been a best current indian pace (medium) bowler.... With the form he has shown in the IPL matches, I get the feeling that, he will be more than handful in english conditions.... I have no doubt in my mind that he is ahead of Bhuvaneshwar....
singhprakash72 Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 Temperament and application is lacking in Praveen Kumar...he could have improved his bowling and his batting to become main stay ...which never happened. Now unless he has a godfather in selection circle he is probably done for good.
Maratha Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 He lost his mojo when he started bowl around 123-125k. He was effective when he was bowling around atleast 130k. He basically sucked before he got injured during 2011 wc and lost pace after that. Anyone remember this injury?

maniac Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 For a Guy who bowls at 115 K to 120 K he acts too much like a bada** and gets injured way too oftem like he is tearaway bowler ....wouldn't have gone anywhere after the Eng series anyways. Bhuvan is a similar bowler with atleast 10 yards more pace,so hopefully this will be a defining series for him.

Vilander Posted June 23, 2014 Posted June 23, 2014 Best swing bowler in India, definitely better than Kula who is one of the best now in the world.. He can swing the ball in any condition, he could have complemented the current lineup of fast but gun barrel straight aaron, slow but bouncy pankaj, slow and gun barrel straight but atleast potentially bouncy ishant, in place of slow, puny short no good swing trundler bhuv.
