There are no strawmen, the doctor has made an un-doctor like comment and this is where the chewtiya brigade of India is far far behind the US- atleast when their chewtiyas make chewtiya statements, their own parties dont defend them so zealously. And no, yoga is not something that should be compulsory. The objective of physical education is to promote healthy body and encourage athleticism- if my kid says '**** yoga, i wanna play tennis instead', i fully support that. There is nothing inherently better about yoga than calisthenics, ballet, gymnastics, tennis, badminton- a whole host of activities that are designed to produce a stronger, fitter, more enduring and more flexible body. It is one of many flavours to choose from, at the discretion of the user but it is NOT something worth forcing on kids.

Ohh no a ditch digger just disqualified Dr Harsh Vardhan from practicing his chosen profession. What will he do? Well for starters he will spend 5 years as the health minister of India. Key term there "minister". Not just a doctor anymore. And considering his (and leadership's) views on sanitation and cleanliness alone, I have no doubt the health condition/prospects of the country will be much better than it was 3 months ago.
