No Indians need an outlet of venting,Just like how people get riled up uneccesarily when they watch Rohit's god-given talent...Usually Indians adjust to everything.....You pay 2 RS.(back in my day :embarassed:) to use Shulabh Sauchalaya and you get the nastiest toilet,do we get riled up and fight for our rights,We just pee around the nastiness and adjust....you buy a ticket in a general compartment and travel in a packed bogey do we complain for not getting a seat or a clean bathroom? No we adjust. We don't get riled up easily,so OP you are taking some randomn posts seriously,You are the one getting riled up :giggle:

main reason is broken sarcasm detetctor sarcasm-detector.jpg
This. I didnt realize the extent of this, but Indian culture has a broken sacrcasm detector/interaction. We dont do sarcasm like other people do- we never ever do the whole 'stone-faced expressionless drop a bomb, wait a minute and say just kidding giggle giggle' routine very well. The rest of the world does- minus the super-touchy arabs and eastern europeans ofcourse. They too have a broken sarcasm detector

Seriously why??? From Michael Vaughan to the Jonathan Liu guy who wrote a satirical piece on Sachin to Sharapova now. Why is it so easy to rile our people up. Twitter is blowing up with Indians cussing sharapova. It was the same on the other occassions. Just makes us a laughing stock to the rest of the world
No they are not. Those who you call trolls, are real indians who bravely defend the honour of our legends, unlike some of you turncoats.

Which youngster did he block? Even in his last match he scored 74, which is much more than most of the "young" batsman can do. Still can't believe an Indian(if you aren't a Paki troll) can think like you do

Do you think if an average Indian had the standard of living, income, facilities etc that an avg. westerner enjoys, he/she would have developed sacrcasm detector? Just recall your own school/college friends group wherein gali-galoch, all sorts of humor etc goes fine.... Its good to be self critical but blaming it on culture is a misconception I guess...

So what kind of investigation is she under in India now ? Doesnt her Papa have political connections, do you really think maid's family was safe in India ? Did you even read my post or just saw "Diplomat.. US.. India" and got excited ? Also the "hue and cry" was only in India, it hardly even made news in the US. I am not saying India is right or US is right, the point that people missed is that an Indian abused or tried to abuse another Indian but they all defended her, not only saying that she has immunity but that she also didnt do anything wrong. PS: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/CBI-to-charge-Devyani-Khobragade-her-father-in-Adarsh-scam/articleshow/33250811.cms
It hardly made news in the US? It was on the front place on CNN and other media for days, trying to pretend moral superiority of some sorts I see how you conveniently ignored all the points about diplomatic immunity which I have raised which was the prime reason everyone raised a hue and cry. Almost all protests were because of the diplomatic issue and nothing else. There will always be some idiots who will miss the point but most were very clear on the issue. The US media was the one trying to bring up the suffering maid and portraying India as a country of exploitation while they were the great saviors What has the adarsh scam or anything else to do with the issue? There were also some grey areas, like the maid being considered a flight risk much before US gave her a visa and the courts hearing on the petition in India. Yet, despite India giving US fair warning, they smuggled an Indian citizen out of the country and tried to paint it in a different picture. Yeah right, it is because Indians are touchy

All the self loathing Indians over here....here is how it works....as an indian what is your identity? Your religion-look at the amount of self loathing you do yourself...and not just limited to Hinduism,Islam or Sikhism....but in the end that is your identity in the west Your profession-either you are a taxi,a computer whiz(one of the more positive stereotypes) or a "thank u come again" convenience store guy. So what other identity you have left? Yes if someone ignores a global achiever be it srt it hurts.....if you see a hrithik roshan poster for a rado ad in a mall, you may not be a fan but you feel a sense of pride....if srk gets busted you laugh at the joker but you are still hurt once again due to a stereotype that is associated with you. Unless you are adopted by non indian parents, married to a non indian girl you as an individual don't have an identity....I am talking about most common desi folk So yes the feeling of insecurity Leeds to venting like in this case, but the unfortunate part is we do not know our boundaries. Stop being a self loathing hater and if you want to step up and erase the embarrassment your fellow Indians have caused you,try educating the ignorant.

maniac, Did you know that just looking good while playing shots once in a while while regularly getting pwned as most times is NOT the sign of a good batsman? That just being tall and having long hair does not make you a fast bowler? The more you learn!

@Desi/MTC The diplomat case is very different. People reacted to the way it was portrayed in Indian media, so the reaction was justified. The govt. (through the media) purposefully needed that public reaction to secure the release of the diplomat, so we cant blame the media either. The US was also justified in arresting her (American husband, good household income, good house, 2 little kids who require alot of looking after – and yet underpay the maid). Only one to blame was the diplomat in that case. Indian Media and public, the US – no one can be blamed imo.
