I think he will do well, sure he had some bad years behind but he seems to have improved his speed from late 70's to mid 80's. 
Not a bad choice TBH in India once Ashwin retires.

Wrist spinners are bad choice in modern test cricket, IMO.

There is no quest, they're just content with Bumrah, Bhuvi, Pandya, Chahal, Jaddu.
Only when these bowlers get injured, they'll look for the others as a last minute replacement. We hadn't learned a thing from BG Trophy or SL series (which was marred with Covid).

Deepak Chahar has the ability to move the new ball, plus he is handy with the bat so him bowling well is an advantage.
Arshdeep getting this kinda swing is new, considering he is excellent at death and can bowl late 130's to early 140's when no swing on offer.
Hope they perform in other 2 matches as well and close the door for Bhuvi and Harshal.

According to our selectors : He is too fast so automatically he will not be accurate. He needs to work on his slow ones slower ones, ultra slow ones and slowest of them all ones. Then he will be considered accurate and given a chance.
Accuracy is not based on where you land the ball, he needs to bowl at 120 cause that’s what is correct and great bowlers do that, for example;  “Chetan sharma , Bhuvi koomar, insert some random exception slow good bowler, deb mohanty, insert some half decent pie chucker from past”. See. Pls consider chetan and mohanty as great that’s important.
