sitanshu kotak seems to be doing all the right things- 

 

-got the right team in the 11.

- getting Prasidh and BOOm bowling well.

-batsman are batting well and bowlers are bowling at their potential under him.

- even fielding was OK.

- i liked Jaiswal and rituraj and rinku today- dubey is not ready for international team.

 

Prasidh is bowling fast @142K under sitanshu. he is not holding himself back.

like him as a COACH - atleast last 2 odi's- team is doing well .

Prasidh nearly got his third wicket.

Prasidh as expected is doing great. Hope he will be fit for majority of time in the next 3-5 years.

Prasidh's steep bounce at pace adds a different dimension to the Indian bowling.

 

It would be a big mistake if we leave out Prasidh from the Asia Cup and WC squads.

 

We need this extra bounce. 

 

Infact we need more such pacers once the WC is over.  Mayank Y, Harshit, Sen, Tyagi, Hangargekar.

@express bowling Prasidh is doing great here because pitch has a bit of life. But in WC, where some of the stadiums are going to be lifeless for quicka (I.e. Lucknow), do you see him going as a third quick ?

 

Or we will have Siraj, Bumrah with Pandya or Thakur covering for third pacer.

 

I am saying this, because we may have to bat deep till 8

I want Prasidh in the squad and use him on surfaces which are not too slow.

Most likely we'll have Axar or Kuldeep at 8

We got to play Kuldeep as well, thats three duds batting wise in the 11. We just cant afford anymore

My only slight concern is death bowling. If we play Prasidh, Bumrah and rest Siraj...death bowling may go for a toss as Prasidh isn't known for his death bowling skills..neither does Pandya and Shardul.

 

On grounds like Dharamshala..I would be tempted to go for all 3 quicks but that means I will have to drop Kuldeep to have batting till 8.

 

It's going to be a jigsaw puzzle...our lack of batting ability at the tail can hurt us big.

What sort of pitches are these.. Dube goes for 4 when Ireland should have probably targeted him.

Kuldeep at 8 means we will have 4 tailenders. Kuldeep is a blocker and that's it.

During the 2014 to 2016 period, the same was said about Shami. Let's rest him most of the time and use him in big matches. 

 

But I have always advocated playing regularly for better match fitness.

 

Shami has become fitter once he has started playing lots of matches.

 

Wrapping bowlers in cotton wool is a recipe for disaster.

It seems like it's a 3 place fight amongst Bumrah, Siraj, Prasidh and Kuldeep for no 9-11.

While for 7-8 we will have fight between Axar, Jaddu and Shardul.

it will be terrible having jaddu the tuk-tuker at 7 or 8. if jaddu plays, he should bat at 5 or 6 at max.

Yup, but I think that's how it's going to be.

Jaddu will bat at 7, Shardul at 8. Axar will rotate based on pitch and conditions and who is rested.

6 is going to be Pandya's (unless he injures himself)..and then 5 batters.

it's better if pandu injures himself. better combo is jaddu at 6, axar at 7, and thakur at 8

In reality we will see Bumrah, Shami and Chahal / Kuldeep at 9 to 11 and Jadeja and Shardul at 7 and 8.

 

This TM.will just pick the seniors.
