Shami's top spells The beginning of the video has Shami seting up Cook in a test match with 2 delioveries that moved away. The 3rd ball comes in and breaks his stumps in half. This is followed by some hostile fast bowling and swing bowling in the same test series. Watch from 2.50 onward... has the 2 nasty bouncers, the first dislocates Woakes' helmet and the 2nd has him in tangles and lobbing a simple catch. Some great stump directed bowling after that. Near the end, there are some nasty bouncers. We need this bowler fit for our away test tours.... must get him fully fit and bowling in rhythm Shami is averaging 24 in the 13 tests he played from mid- 2016 onward. He looks down in pace these days and that has been the case since the IPL. He may have taken wickets but doesnt look as sharp as he was before. Link to comment

Shami was bowling his normal pace of 135 k to 146 k in this IPL. He is bowling slower in this series but could be due to the quality of opposition. Yes Shami did bowl the odd delivery at 145k in this year's IPL but I'm pretty sure his average would have been lower when compared to previous years. Rabada and Cummins were comfortably bowling quicker and were more threatening. Hopefully he gets somewhere close to the way he bowled in 2015 WC. Link to comment

T20 games are about batsmen attacking bowlers and usually succeeding if the pitches are normal T20 pitches or even easier. We lost because we scored 190 on a 220+ pitch. express bowling Posted July 10, 2017 Author Share Posted July 10, 2017 (edited) Selectors missed out on a chance to groom a back-up fast bowler for test matches, while selecting the test squad for Sri Lanka. We have 5 tours outside Asia, starting this winter. We would need 3 specialist fast bowlers most of the time. The team we have picked has 4 specialist fast bowlers. That includes Shami who is not fully fit yet. That means we have 3 more fit fast bowlers. If another one gets injured..... which is quite common among fast bowlers.... we will have to play an uncapped fast bowler in South Africa.
