I wish our genuine pacers like Sen and others could bowl in areas like Mukesh Kumar. He is a very good bowler without the x-factor. Genuine quicks too need to realise that they to have to hit right areas like medium pace bowlers.

Looking at the improvement of Taskin and Ebadot regarding the areas they are bowling ... a really good fast bowler as bowling coach should be able to do it.

According to a Cricviz study, Bumrah's accuracy is very close to Philander and he can be 145 k+.

McGrath had the ability to generate steep bounce off the deck, bowl nasty short balls and intimidate batsmen. And this ability made it easier for him to be aggressive.

Among the younger quick bowlers we have ... Mohsin and Simarjeet are the most accurate.

 

And both can swing the ball and get bounce too.

 

Both should play for India A.

I think this season is crucial for him, both Ranji and IPL.

Philander was mostly SA's test bowler, they never wanted him to play T20s and ODIs.

 

His Avg, and Wkts in Indian Subcontinent are not that impressive, also while playing he had support from prime Steyn (high pace )and Morne (high pace + Steep bounce). This is kind of near perfect bowling attack for SENA pitches. 

 

Ind prefer multi-format bowlers or at-least they want a new bowler capable of bowling all the formats, this is not possible these days. Ind should go for high pace bowlers, we have witnessed their success in test when the high pace bowler are backed.

 

Bhuvi, Kumar , Chahar will not be good in long run, for longer run they should invest in high pace bowlers and rotate them to manage workloads and not let them burn-out.

There should be proper breaks, conditioning and strength training during the breaks.

Dravid has to look at himself and Tendulkar to get this point.  Dravid averaged 52.3 after 162 tests .... and Tendulkar averaged 53.8 after 200 tests. Very similar numbers.  But Tendulkar captured the imagination of the entire cricketing world due to his exciting brand of batting in the 1990s. And Dravid did not. And Tendulkar himself lost some popularity after his batting became more workmanlike post 2003 after he got tennis elbow. 

 

If Dravid tries to create a team of workmanlike players, people won't watch India play 

 

And he seems to have achieved the " twin objectives " of a boring brand of cricket that fails to produce results too.  

 

 

 

 

 

from results perspective dravid /mhambrey have got lesser results to Shastri/bharat arun.

bharat arun was the game changer in shastri's team - he definitely produced good results from fast bowlers and when ishant/shammi/umesh/bumrah were together they won a lot of testmatches and looked a dangerous attack. bharat let them bowl bouncers and full length balls but with Pace.

i was never sure why was bharat arun removed where as every one knew that he did a great Job.

over all shastri has definitely beaten dravid as the lead coach.

same here i used to turn off the tv when Manjrekar and dravid batted, i saw a bit of Manjrekar's batting too.

 

he never tried to score a single too, he always defended straight - by chance if the ball went a bit away from the fielder , he used to go for a single.

all his 4's were behind the wicket off snicks or a touch on the leg stump. He and akash ( big mouth akash) were stroke less wonders. i never understood how could Manjrekar, akash got to play for India. Dravid had some shots though he was defensive all the time and it was a big mistake to get him to play for ODI's for INDIA. he was a fully defensive batsman exactly like PUJARA and he should not have been asked to play in ODI and T20. AS today Pujara is a permanent player for tests but he is not in ODI or t20 team..

that's why even now dravid may be asked to only coach test and odi team where as He should be asked to coach only india test team.
