Umran seems as knee dominant, while others as hip.

Umar gul was quick only for a brief period of time in T20's (around 2009-2011) when he was at his peak. Ryan was also never a 150 kph bowler, in 138-145 range mostly...NCN was also in same range more of less. The point is all these and a lot of other bowlers have clocked 150 kph at their peak. but you cant start calling them express.

Thats my point. No sweetheart :p You can check as many youtube videos on past matches, but what you cant check is what batsmen who played these bowlers spoke about the Indian bowling. You all are lucky you all have a few old men like me still lurking around in this group... If you manage to find the newspaper articles and interviews of batsmen from opposition teams, all of them said that the Indians were the most quickest and difficult to play against. I am talking about zimbabwe, english, south african batsmen... They were hitting the bat very hard. As a matter of fact, during 99 WC, Anshuman gaekwad had instructed srinath to go flat out fast. In 2003 WC, Wright and Ganguly had instructed bowlers to go flat out. And no, I dont agree that Donald was fast medium. He was express. But by 97, 98, Donald was already old and had lost his pace. Please read yesterdays comment by Ajay Jadeja on Umran Malik. He has said that the only other fast bowler who could bowl as rapid as Umran was Srinath... Peeps, please get rid of this mentality that old speed guns were shyt vishalvirsingh, rollingstoned, Suhaan and 1 other 4

speedracer Posted January 13, 2023 Posted January 13, 2023 I am 100% positive Donald was never express. Never. There were 3 guys faster than him in the 90s who were actually part of his team.

Peeps, please get rid of this mentality that old speed guns were shyt This statement is not wrong, Srinath was quite fast till 1997 when he had that shoulder injury, post that Srinath's form nosedived and he lost his pace a lot. He still clocked 149k in 1999 WC, which means he was easily in 143-153 (or higher) range during his pre injury days. Srinath, Umesh, Aaron, Bumrah and now Umran has been the fastest pacers for India. My issue is with 2003 ODI WC, for some reason it doesn't make sense to me. I can be wrong and I would accept it, but every bowler was hitting higher than usual pace in that tournament. Wasim was hitting 136-137 kph while visually they looked late 120's to early 130's. Jermaine Lawson, Vasbert Drakes, Gillespie all were hitting mid 140's. In comparison, Zak was barely touching 140 in 2004 series vs Pakistan. Shoaib hardly clocked 150 in that series (he bowled a lot of mid 130's deliveries). Even Bond before the 2003 WC played vs Australia in 2002 and was bowling in 140-148 range, but in WC he was hitting 153-154k regularly. Edited January 13, 2023 by singhvivek141 express bowling 1

Balaji clocked 150 ,Irfan clocked 144,148. That was an error. Sami was quick but 164 is too much. Balaji clocking 150 and Irfan 148 is again seems to me an error. Both were 135-140 when started. Irfan later became a 128-133 bowler when he focussed on his release after advice from Wasim and became a new ball swinger. Even Shardul has clocked 148 in his debut ODI match. But in the same match most of his deliveries were oscillating in 135-138 range. Edited January 13, 2023 by singhvivek141

Zak was coming back from a injury in 2004, you need to check his speeds both in the champions trophy 2002 and NatWest series the same year, he was bowling 137-144kph range, same with nehra, infact prior to the 2003 world a lot offseason work was done with the seamers and they all credited better fitness for their speeds, Zak became injury prone just after the world cup, same with nehra, Pathan emerged and a year later rp Singh and sreesanth. Speed wise all these bowlers at one stage in their careers bowled 90mph

Would not be surprised one bit if he was chucking tbh. Whole army of chuckers exist in that country. Also starcy looks like a chook chucker when he used to try and bowl short with his old action hence the fluke 161 km delivery. That 161 barely looked like a 150 in nz. Some Rubbish speed guns.

I have seen some spells where he bowled consistently around 145-149ish. Atul Wassan, from the past was pretty rapid. Wont say he was 150, but he sure was 142/143ish bowler with skills to exceed 145 on occassions. That was pretty quick by India standards in late 80's and early 90's express bowling 1
