Just carrying on the discussion. See how bowlers of the past was glorified. Around 1994, Waqar was still seen as worlds fastest bowler. Listen to the commentary from 1:50-2:05. 

Waqar bowled at 138k's, and everybody was jumping at the pace.

Nope...  Already a week's rest.  No more rest required.  Fine tune be battle hardened.

I remember reading an interview of Colin Croft where he said he didn't want to kill someone bowling at 120ks.Back then they didn't know that well.
