Mediocrity promotes mediocrity....Mukesh is currently blue eyed boy of TM.

Paras Mhambrey is happy that he is coaching Mukesh Kumar instead of a Kuldeep Sen.

When India lost the last test series in South Africa less than 2 years ago, Dravid said that SA won because they had taller bowlers who could make better use of the variable bounce of 2 of the pitches in the 2nd innings.

Implication being that we should get tall hit the deck quicks too.

While they have included Prasidh, the 2nd one is another shorter pacer, Mukesh, while we already have 3 short and medium height quicks.

I don't understand the logic behind this poor planning.

Are they puppets who can't implement what they themselves think of  ??

The way I see it, I don't think Rahul Dravid or Agarkar are so dumb that they can't understand the conditions in SA. Even Ravi Shastri to some extent has started talking more sense as soon as he is out from the coaching setup.

There is something else going on, not sure if there is too much pressure from the franchises or selectors are too scared of failures that they want to adopt safe approach by selecting reserve bowlers who in their eyes are not good enough to challenge the big stars.

Continous selection of Jadeja over Axar & Ashwin over Washington hints in that direction. There is no emphasis given to create Hardik's backup, Easwaran was dropped from the setup without playing any game just because he wasnt "good for eyes". Dravid says we don't have tall pacers etc., they all hint to something fishy is happening which we as an honest fans can't understand.

Clearly there is something not correct abt. selection. Even the non-selection of SKY for more than 3/4 yrs even after performing in IPLs.

Dravid's statements can not be taken on face value, his lengthy PC does not mean anything. He was sure Jadeja's injury was not serious and he will make it to WC. They were telling Pandya will be back after 2 matches in WC but now learning that he may take longer to fix the injury.

There is seriously something else, for sure franchises want their players in Ind team that makes their IPL teams more marketable, gives them socialmedia content to stay relevant. Broadcasters too want superstars to market the series.

Additionally IPL is main criteria for selection, Rahane made comeback in the test on the back of IPL.  Only Mukesh Kumar made it to all format Ind team before playing IPL

Selectors are giving chances to newer players in meaning less series and then drop them and do not talk about them, Rahul Tripathi is an example, was selected did reasonably ok and then dropped just to be forgotten.

Selection of bowlers is all over the place, previously selectors tried to select bowlers depending on conditions for SENA tours - Umesh and Aroon made comeback in Aus series. Ishant was selected for SENA tour first.

Do not think they are scared of backlash which is non-existent , they do not do PC for selections, Jurno's are not asking any questions.

If someone see the post-match pcs, clearly jurnos are acting as pr team, they are kind of hype-man. they are putting out words into foreign players mouth too and trying to give them cue, how gr8 certain Ind player is, how good was Ind team. Its v.clear they are not their to ask meaningful question.

Akram, Lee and others have quested the selection of sub 140 kmph bowlers but then nothing was considered by TM and selectors.

There should be something that no-one considering genuine pacer.

In t20i who does not know either bowlers have to have variations and should be able to bat and have hitting capabilities, Ind is not selecting the right players

Any bowler who is being considered for t20I must be able to bat and have hitting capabilities.

Prasidh or kuldeep sen or avesh are better than mukesh

Prasidh I dont like in t20s anymore..Avesh and Mukesh are just slightly better...best would be if they groom Sen..but these aholes will make sure he is lost..

that guy has height..pace..bounce..yorkers..etc..he should hav ebeen priority#1..but these losers in BCCI are wasting him..

Unless the bowler is exceptional, someone like Bumrah is still gold in T20's.

Sadly our bowling trio of Mukesh, Arshdeep & Avesh can neither bat nor have big hitting ability...all three are poor fielders as well.

Even Prasidh & Siraj are also dud with bat and an average fielders.

In spin department Kuldeep is decent fielder but very poor with bat for T20's. Bishnoi is just ok with bat but is an agile fielder. Chahal is pukeworthy in both.

Prasidh in T20's can only work as middle over enforcer...he needs cushion at top & specially in death.

nowadays..the strageies are so fluid..that teams may attack even in middle overs too..one needs to use brains and variety..tahst where he is struggling..he is wasting his height and pace atleast in T20s

His record in odi and tests is very very good. Keep him there. Don't conflate formats. Idiots will do it though

Selection of a fast bowler has to consider the type of pace bowler he is- like Siraj and Prasidh are attacking options and Mukesh is a defensive bowler .. Siraj is looking to take wickets and I trust Prasidh should also do that ( with his height and Pace).

Mukesh does not have the Swing of Bhuvi and the Pace of Kuldeep Sen and Umraan or even Siraj and Prasidh. He is a Mixed BAG...a bit of pace between 130 to 140 K ..kind of accurate but has no SWING.

I am not sure why some selectors are going CRAZY for him.

if I am a selector - i would pick Prasidh , Kuldeep Sen, Or Siraj ahead of Mukesh in t20 or Odi and even TESTS.

reason is Potential, All 3 are way ahead of Mukesh on TALENT and Potential......we have a fast bowling coach hired ( Mr. Mhambrey). Don't we want a fast bowling coach to also do some work? if Prasidh is as accurate as Mukesh then there is hardly any need of a coach .

Problem is BOOM, SHAMMI are complete packages when they are ACCURATE, perfect Line n length  and FAST ( 140+)...they do not get success when they bowl in 130's s

I m fine with Prasidh in longer firmats but not in t20s.. he often looks clueless

None of the U19 bowlers look excting. Previous editions had promising quick bowlers Tyagi, Nagarkoti, Mavi, Hangargekar, Sushant. This lot of fast bowlers are poor in comparison. Where are the quick bowlers?

Were there any speedometers ? How were the speeds from Ind U19 bowlers ??
