Avesh has now become a trundler disguised as fast bowler with all the grunting and labored action and still bowling in 129k..what a disappointment..

Defensive mindset at every level is thwarting any chance of developing new quicks.

 

Kartik Tyagi is not getting to play for his state team even in Ranji Trophy. 

 

The Indian cricket fraternity just cannot think big or aggressively. We don't want to dominate and just love medium pacers, finger spinners and consolidator batsmen.  Which is why we have been a middling team for the last 53 years and a poor team before that.

From our first choice pacers...Umesh was unearthed in 2012, Shami in 2013, Bumrah in 2016 & Siraj in 2020.

 

Post Siraj, all we have tried is Avesh, Mavi, Mukesh, Unadkut, Harshal, Sakariya, Saini, Prasidh, Arshdeep & Umran...from which only Arshdeep is able to find it's feet in one format due to constant backing...while Umran was dropped unfairly based on his IPL form.

 

When the whole setup is hell bent on promoting innocuous lazy trundlers who can neither bat nor field properly, no wonder why the fast bowlers will feel discouraged & demoralized....if someone comes with an excuse of fitness then throughout the world fast bowlers face fitness issues, what's important is developing a pool of quicks who can replace each other in case of injury.

 

IMO, it's better to develop pool of 3 fast bowlers who can take 100 wickets each at a lower avg..,than selecting an innocuous trundler who will take 300 wickets with a mediocre average.

avesh and Mukesh were worse than afghanisthan Pace bowlers- I was feeling so BAD.

ek jamane mein ( 2019 ) avesh 140 to 148K pace, Hard Length- I still remember the ball he bowled to small size indian opening batsman ( b4 gill, forgetting his name , India under 19 captain)..it was so fast that he literally gave an easy return catch off nearly a bouncer. avesh looked deadly that time faster than Umesh and shammi.

@selectors Jab ghoda budha hone lage to select kyon kar rahe ho.. us waqt karna that.

ab umraan malik ko bhi budha kar ke select karenge.

i cant understand how Avesh khan and Mukesh Kumar are better than Umesh Yadav and BHUVI.........if they cant compete with shammi siraj and boom they should not be playing for INDIA...period. I believe Prasidh has the potential to compete with shammi boom and siraj.

Umesh was unearthed by Delhi Daredevils in 2010 IPL

He was in the squad to SA in 2010,but didn't get opportunity

Got his opportunity in India against visiting Windies alongwith Aaron in late 2011,he went to Aus just after Aaron missed the bus due to injury

This was and till date the fastest pair of fast bowlers to ever play for India very raw pace

They were 2-3 yards quicker than the already quicker Windies bowlers ,Rampaul himself was clocking 145+ in those days

Aaron was a huge setback,poor fellow had injuries at wrong time

He bowled quite well in later 2015 against visiting SA in Bangalore test just when he was getting to his own he again got injured and never came back as new pacers were coming up

That was the time of Bharat and Kohli took over and pace bowling became our forte,good memories

Discard indian bowlers every 6 to 7 years. Just get rid of them. Swap and repeat. Use new bowlers once they git that 7 year mark. It's a cut off but that seems to be roughly the expiry date for our bowlers. 

 

Shami is going strong on year 10 now. 

Bumrah on year 7. Looks like he too may get another 3

Siraj maybe another 3 as well. 

 

Rest, the new pool. 6 to 6 gears that's it bye bye. Swap and blood new youngers
