Siraj is the weak link in our pace attack . Averages 29.7 after 27 tests with only 2.7 wickets per test. Average bowling speed is dropping too.

We need to find a replacement.

Problem is our TM, selectors and retired cricketers see him from historic angle and think he is very good.

Anyone watching Will O Rourke bowling... That guy bowls around 144k and consistently average speed over 138-139k.

Generates serious lift and zip off the deck.

A superior version of Jamieson.

If he gets similar kind of conditions like Chepauk in India will be handful against us

@Nikhil_cric

he seems like the best fast bowling prospect we have seen in recent memory.

Akash reminds me of Andy Bichel

Solid, hardworking, Fast-medium support cast. Needed by every team.

Much better than the Mukesh, Unadkat type.

I see way more potential in him than someone like Bichel.
One thing I understand is that he wont maintain this pace for more than 4 years, so hoping we get the most from him during this time.

I think he will play a big role down under, hope Siraj comes back in form too, that will be a great trio against Aussies.

Imagine Jamieson coming back and bowling in tandem with Rourke, that will be hell on helpful surfaces and conditions.

dilemma of Ind cricket right now - confusion amongst the formats, Pants plays T20i with SR of ~125 at 4/5/6. Jaiswal plays T20is and test but not ODis who is the other batter who plays this combination?? Gill plays T20is when other teams are moving towards batter like mcgurk, head, salt etc who goes from ball 1 trying to maximize PP and keep increasing the tempo.

This confusion is amongst the selectors, as so far they haven't worked on identifying format specialists and are still searching for all format players.

Project SKY was pushed to ODI's and Tests, it backfired.

Gill hasn't worked well in T20's, Shreyas has good numbers in ODI but hasn't been upto the mark in T20 or Tests.

We need likes of Abhishek, Shashank, Ashutosh in T20's.

Think selectors and ppl in bcci would know better than an avg. cric fan. this all is due to marketability of certain kind of players.

T20 is and will remain Ind cricket problem due to the reason its a mny making format and all Ind superstar player wants to play it even though they are not good it.

Dhoni played T20i with a SR of below 120 for most of his intnl career and only after passing captaincy to kolhi he increased a bit to  ~125 SR.

They removed Sikhar for KL what result has it produced, Having 2/3 accumulators in top 3 will never help team which has no finisher even with finisher this combination will never work.

The problem with ind's t20 batting is they lack power hitting and innovation and only in their late 20s or ealy 30s they realize they need to make changes -- Sky and Tripathi and even DK has made those changes in their 30s when realizing they can not make it to Ind team in Odis or test and their best chances are IPL and t20s. Shashank is also in his 30s and he has realized t20s and IPL is the only format for him

Abhishek kind of player is rarity who is young has power/ability to hit big shots and mentality for doing it constantly.

Watched few domestic t20 leagues think -- Priyansh, Sujal (both DPL), Chikara (UP20) and then there is Jamal or something guy in tnpl who kind of looks like have t20 kind of mentality and abilities, but then they will be called hecks or something. Not promoting or developing batters like yosuf pathan caused Ind the lack of t20 ability.

Ind T20 batting can be discussed alot further buts its a bowlers thread. Do not want to side-track that

He was most impressive pacer in NZ v Australia series for Kiwis alongside Sears...

But he is good 4-5ks quicker in SL. Rushing batters for pace and bounce

Adding 4-5 kmph in just 1 season .....really v.good from him and that too in test cricket

What is his speed range ?

Biggest asset to extract bounce, something I like about SENA sides who prefer tall bouncy bowlers who are neither trundlerisque nor erratic

Although he's quite new,but ingredients/tools are there

He will be high 140s bowler in time I reckon

Very discomforting bounce he generates from short of good length

Bumrah is bowling 129-138 in first over.

138 was the last ball, hope he is just warming up.

In a 3 over spell this morning, Bumrah looked stiff. Lots of balls around the 133 - 135 k range with a fastest of around 141 k. Did not run in well. His customary zip and bounce off the deck were lesser too.

Hope he does not have a niggle.

Siraj bowling his most lively spell of this match. Hitting the deck hard. Ball flying through with bounce. Hitting the bat high and hard. Getting some seam movement.

When he has this ability, why can't Siraj bowl like this most of the time.

Why is Akash underbowled.

In India it's bound to happen, spinners usually eat up most of the overs in second inns.

On top of it he is a newbie, hence mgmt will have less trust on him.

On a 5 bowler attack in India, one bowler will get underbowled. Akashdeep is an easy choice.
