Its just that he should not take much time to reach his peak speeds again else it get hard to reach original speeds. This is what shaheen said we a pushing but the speedometer is not showing those speeds, once the bowler looses that kind of natural speeds its hard to gain it again they can push as much as possible it just does not work. Yes, akhtar's fastest in 99 wc was 154. He made his debut in 96. Even Umran has crossed 155 barrier, both in IPL and international cricket. Edited October 7, 2024 by rkt.india tapandrun 1

He si very confident about his swing now..even yorkers and slow balls too.. Must be tough on him. They just totally abandoned him. U can’t drop a young guy from the international side to no other opportunities anywhere in any team whatsoever. He probably has the least stress while generating pace. I don’t think he’s ever gonna drop pace. Just needs to sort his length and most importantly have confidence in his own self. Be more fearless when the batter is trying to attack. One breakout tournament and I’m sure he’ll be back. Need4Speed 1

Pakistan was touring SA in 1998 i think and though they didn't show speeds on tv commentators were talking about the speeds of the bowlers. The Durban ground had a speed gun. Both Waqar Younis and Allan Donald were playing that match. So were fanie de Villiers and Klusener. Shoaib was bowling quicker than all of them. tweaker 1
Need4Speed Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 (edited) Perhaps Lee and Akhtar were not coming back from injury and a long gap and bowling on such less pace friendly wkt and not in such a format where accuracy becomes more critical..so you cant err slightly bit Edited October 8, 2024 by Need4Speed
tapandrun Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Think there is no comparison between some1 bowling 150 kmph in test vs some1 bowling 150 kmph bowling in t20s. Both Akthar and Lee were more prepared for their debut than Mayank, Lee debut against Ind in test bowled 140-150 kmph crossed 150 kmph few time 152 kmph may have fastest. Akthar was also fast when he debut against wi he was fast but not that fast , and both took some time to crack 155 kmph. Wood only recently started bowling 155 kmph
ind_hyd1 Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 Had look Bengal squad, very sad to see Ishan Porel being dropped. From being one of the most promising bowlers to not even being picked in the Ranji squad is a disappointing story

Do they know something which we don't. Anyway if Akashdeep continues for NZ and Aus series then Porel might be picked.

He looks like he is disillusioned with the Indian management. Looks like if he gets one more chance to prove himself, he is going to give it all. Need4Speed 1
