Still. At least he is playing international cricket, executing his skills and gaining experience etc.

Which of India's hyped pace products from U-19 or IPL even got a regular run in bilaterals ?

He's playing at 30. At younger age injurires are more frequent which is what our pacers are going through.

I expect Prasidh to build on from Sydney Test and develop quickly.

How many matches has he even played after that 4 run over?

Not sure on how many matches he played but he played less than 5 matches per season after that 1st season.

And that is the exact point, a player cannot  turn up every season half fit/unfit/injured . He is no star or even intnl capped player that teams will be okay with him on benched being injured, even that is not ok for Intnl and star players now.

He hardly plays domestic season, mostly injured and its not like when he is not injured he is a sure pick in the 11. No IPL team would like have a player who turns up half-fit every season and provides no value being on the bench fr that reason.

That is true only for pacers until 24 or so. Many of our guys are older than that

He played 1 last season, 1 or 2 before that. You can't blame him for injuries. He does work hard on his fitness but no has control on injuries. Since 2020, only once he played for a length of time without injury when he played Vijay hazare and SMT back to back in November December 2022. Got injured at the end of Vijay hazare and missed rest of the year.

Tyagi shid nvr give hope..he should keep working on his accuracy and fitness..

Even after 3 more years if his body is able to sustain 145k and he gets good control on accuracy..he can come in team anytime as he has got the skills..

Pace, Height, Bounce , Yorker, Swing and Seam..possibly slower one too or can develop..

This is a killer combination once he develops fitness and accuracy

Its not about if tyagi has control over injuries or he should give-up. Its the reality.  He is been in IPL system for 4-5 years now.

He not able to make-up to playing 11 of any side, no team is interested is buying him back. He has been part of 3-4 teams.

Unless something changes dramatically for him or in Ind cricket his chances of playing for Ind with his peak pace are v.low.

If he does not play for IPL teams, he would not be able to make it domestic team as IPL teams wants to make sure their players plays Ind and if not Ind then domestic to make a case for them thats the reason Ishant is still playing, Bhuvi is still playing, Umesh and Aaron is playing domestic cricket.

Tyagi is not playing any kind of cricket to be considered, that is point. He only turn-up for IPL where too he is half-fit making ppl think he only wants to play IPL and no domestic.

He is not picked by any IPL team this season so for him to get in to recognition for Ind/Ind A, emerging any thing are v.low. So he has again lost 1 more year.

He needs something to change  dramatically for him or in Ind cricket.

This is not against tyagi its against the fewer games for him, its one reason or anyother reason... He is losing time.

Its the same reason time is up for sen too, he didnt play much when he moved to tn, then had injury. the thing with him is he still has ipl contract.

if he manage to get fitness and accuracy right..with the skill he has he cant go unnoticed..

if UP isnt giving him chances or ipl teams not picking him up..

he can then switch to some other states..and if everything is going for him..he can pick up wickets for plenty..

145k+ accurate, tall and bouncy,swing\seam bowler. It cant go unnoticed..

Up t20 league is amongst top 3 domestic leagues in Ind in terms of exposure, talent and mony, do not think its a good plan to move out of up now.

moving to smaller/not so strong teams now would it make any sense for him??? not sure but he should get in writing that he will play atleast x-no. of games for the side.

he needs to decide now. hopefully he gets some help and guidance.

raina has good hand in tyagi's career may be he can help, may be play as net bowler for some ipl side

Saw some NZ vs SL highlights Eshan Malinga the srh pick does not seem to be anything special to be picked without much of Intnl exp.

A sun 140 kmph bowler with a bit not alot sidearm action, kept drifting into LH batters.

Jacob Duffy was a nobody 2 years ago.  Nowhere near the elite NZ talents like Jamieson and O Rourke

Now hitting and a good line and length consistently and bowling up to 143.3 kph and likely to represent NZ at the Champions Trophy.

While we keep waiting for Tyagi and others to develop.

Duffy has only played few games that too against not the top sides

He's on a comeback trail.  Not talking about his raw numbers yet. Just commenting on his actual bowling this series

NZ has been the worst non-Asian team regarding producing top pacers, despite having conditions aiding movement. Closely followed by England of the last 55 years.

Hadlee was absolutely top rung but that was 40 to 50 years back.

Bond was really good but had a very short test career.  Good enough ODI career though.

They generally don't produce all condition pacers. Like Jamieson, who was really good in tests in NZ and England but generally below par away. Now he is 30 and struggling to have a good enough career.

Southee averages 30+ in tests despite bowling 50% of the time in NZ.  Even Boult and Wagner average 27+ which is acceptable only for Asisn pacers bowling 50% of the time on low and sluggish pitches offering minimal movement. Boult was good in ODIs though.

All due to lack of pace, being swing bowler and bowling sub 135 kmph does not help much.

Its hard to get wkts in all condition bowlers with such pace, once ball stops swinging these kind of bowlers render useless.

NZ has as much population as Bengaluru so not surprising at all.

If I simply look at the present, I’m the least excited about India’s test match fast bowling department.

Cant really sugar coat the facts. Bumrah is good. Rana has potential. Prasidh looks ok. Nothing stands out. Siraj n Deep -  I don’t really rate these guys anymore as these guys can’t win u matches on current ability. They had ample chances to show that in the recent test series. Not even one impactful spell from these two.

New Zealand looks way more promising with guys like ORourke, Ben Sears etc. waiting to come, both in terms of pace n other skills. Henry is decent n reliable. Plus they now have another good one I heard.

Unless Rana is given chances n he develops, and Bumrah retains his pace (can only happen if that burden is taken off him), AND if we find another high impact fast bowler (90 mph plus), I don’t really see things changing anytime soon if ever.

And honestly unless Mayank gets fit soon or Umran makes some kind of comeback as a better version in LOIs, even LOI bowling looks bleak. Batting over there is exciting though.

Don’t be surprised if Mr Dayal, Avesh etc are permanent implants for a long long time in LOIs.

Mayank got injured at the worst possible time. Firstly these idiots at the NCA tinkered with his action, made him lose some pace and then he got injured anyways. How TF are these illiterate clowns getting away with this?

And then Umran got discarded by Rohit’s input (bowling coach himself acknowledged that) and then instead of giving him chances in A teams so that the guy could improve, this low IQ bot Agarkar dint even include him there. And then we wonder why we don’t have backups.

It was expected.

The jokers in the NCA have no clue. All they do is to show up at work, munch all the free snacks and drinks, do some scribbling on the notes or some press some random keys on laptop and then go back. All to connect paychecks of lakh of rupees.
