Yograj Singh looks a lively Fast-medium. Quite tall. Getting inswing too

One wonders why such a pacer did not get more chances at a time when Kapil's support pacers were military medium.

Really perplexing why he played just 1 test and 6 ODIs at that time.

till 90s & 2000s we used to select Harvinder Singh, Joginder Sharma who were slow medium.. Yograj had no chance

could be wrong here but, there were rumours that kapil didnt want any high potential fast bowler during that time because he wanted to keep all the limelight and other perks associated with it to himself hence selecting low potential bowlers.

Similar thing have happened when players become 1st generation superstars , they want to milk as much as possible and see anyone else as a threat.

We have seem fights in Ind women cricket team once the money started flowing in for the 1st time.

Same thing happened to 1st gen Bd cricket stars

We are still seeing senior star players still holding up to their place in the team, keeping talented high potential player away

Yarra got 4-fer vs TN , Trilok (TN) is tallish but pace may not be up there.

Any idea on Yarra's pace, few years back ppl were calling him 140+ kmph bowler

Mukesh Choudhary -3+3 wkts (kar vs maha)

RamaKrishna - 2 wkts + 36 runs (kar vs maha)

Ayush goyal- 4+4 wkts (pnjb +chdg)

Any one knows his pace heard of him

Yarra..when I saw earlier did look like 140k+ bowler..somehow didnt get attention..may be due to line nd length..ecnomy..fetish from selectors..

regarding Auqib Nabi..even if he bolws at 125-130 kph..and in lack of other options..when we are even trying Kamboj..can Nabi be successful like Philander in SENA conditions..even Pholander wasnt bowling that fast..from naked eye..

Talking strictly about red ball only..

That's true. As far as I have read and know, Kapil sidelined a lot of bowlers. Srinath is a bloody prime example.

Yograj was definitely sharp, if not more, then atleast of the same pace as Ajit agarkar. 137-142ish I would say. But he was a threat to Kapil's dominance. During Kapil's playing days, Kapil had a lot of tiff with Gavaskar coz Sunny was the popular player.

He once said I confronted kapil  with a gun at his doorstep

Maybe he was quite frustrated for obvious reasons

@Gollum,what do you think?

Harvinder Singh was quite fast. Was selected because of his pace.

I think Yograj is mental, and a terrible human being. Racist, sexist, bigot, delusional, selfish. And an overrated player as his FC stats show.

Yes, Sunny was a saint who always played for his team, his 36 (180) is a prime example of how big a team man he was. Or his desire to abandon Indian team and play for Packer.

Yograj's FC stats read, 398 runs in 30 matches at average of 15. 66 wickets at average 27, not even 2.5 wkts per match. But no saaar, he was the Indian Hadlee denied his place by ebhil Kapil Dev saaaar.

Are we watching the same video? Because he looks like a 120 kph trundler there, no wonder his FC stats were so mediocre.
