could be wrong here but, there were rumours that kapil didnt want any high potential fast bowler during that time because he wanted to keep all the limelight and other perks associated with it to himself hence selecting low potential bowlers.

Similar thing have happened when players become 1st generation superstars , they want to milk as much as possible and see anyone else as a threat.

We have seem fights in Ind women cricket team once the money started flowing in for the 1st time.

Same thing happened to 1st gen Bd cricket stars

We are still seeing senior star players still holding up to their place in the team, keeping talented high potential player away

Kapil did drag his career at the end to overtake Hadlee's record. But so did Miandad till 96 WC, and he too was someone who gave his life for Pak cricket his whole career.

In his prime, Kapil was the most selfless cricketer you could imagine. Never bothered about his batting numbers, him and Botham, both were better than the statpadder Imran but never bothered about milestones/averages. And paaji was always prepared to bowl whole day (his 9fer againsr GOAT WI in Ahmedabad came when he bowled an uninterrupted 30 overs spell from one end), taking his body to breaking point on unresponsive surfaces. He won us the 1981 MCG test by defending 140 odd, carrying an injury (quadriceps tear) which would have put any normal person on bed rest. When Ryan Harris won Aussies a test in RSA with an injured knee, commentators brought up the example of Kapil's herosim in the MCG test, that is the respect even Aussies have for the man. And here we have Indians dissing him, calling him selfish, a man who led us to our first WC win against all odds and made the sport a national obsession.

Are we watching the same video? Because he looks like a 120 kph trundler there, no wonder his FC stats were so mediocre.

Yograj doesn't have that good bowling action. Bowling action plays a big role in first class success. Dubey bowls 125 kph. He certainly looks faster than Dubey.

So selfless that his name appeared in the list of match fixers. He selflessly asked to put his name in the list so that the actual ones didn't have to face the torment alone. Sob sob

CBI cleared him of match fixing charges. Be up to date.

Gurjapneet , Yash Thakur, Charak and Vyshak in Ind -A side for the Rising star asia cup.

Saw few highlights of tnpl Gurjap was mostly high 120 kmph and 133 ish on effort-ball

Charak was early 140s in his 1st Ipl season and touched 145 kmph, but last season he was not there.

Yash -heard he is quick but have not seen him crack-up in IPL think he clocked 144 kmph once in IPL

Vyshak - He can bowl early 140 kmph and on effort ball can touch 144-145 kmph

Pak is a good side too with 4 intnl capped player.

On fast bowling Pak team have -- Ubaid , Salman, Danyal and Aziz

Think Ubaid( Naseemsha's brother) is the fastest in the group bowling early to mid 140 kmph. He was in same U-19 wc with Mapakha, Vidler and Raza.

Danyal is not that tall but skiddy, he has played in BBl bowl late 130s to early 140 with some effort ball touching bit higher pace , has those white-ball skills too.

Aziz is also around same height not that quick 135 kmph

Slaman he is also short and skiddy, sub 140 kmph LA bowler had good outings Vs bd and SL

Bd has Rippon and Mritunjoy 130-140 per bpl speedometer

He has a quick arm action.  Either trundles or hurries batter.  Very deceptive.

Ubaid is nothing special. Naseem was a lot better than him...That Ali Raza was something though.  He is injured reportedly.

Seams like some different Salman,

but yes LA salman is deceptive if playing for 1st few time.

Yes Raza was injured something to do with eye-sight and then some finger injury or something

Bumrah  5 wickets against the defending champions on an Indian pitch.

SA dismissed for just 159

Been posting since Wi test series where ppl were opposed of him playing, he needs to play some test to get back into rhythm.

He is coming back after injury and have getting back into shape again will req. game time. Which is not possible in t20s as bowler needs to keep bowling the variations
