Mixed action is not an issue if back foot is rotating after backfoot landing which happens in his case. His biggest problem is front foot going across the body which blocks hip rotation.

During backfoot contact, his front leg goes across, that's a most basic flaw for a pacer who likes to bowl fast

Thats not a problem for someone who is operating at much lower pace,

and yes mixed actions stop you from reaching optimum pace

Basic key landing foot shoulder knee must be in line or if you land side on upper body must either side on or semi side on

If landing foot is front on upper half should be from on or semi side on,that much leverage you have, but mixed actions are problem

Mixed action is a problem if backfoot is not rotating on landing. Mayank also had a mixed action but he is very quick of the backfoot. Nagarkoti had a mixed action too and also had soft landing which was a problem for him unlike harshit and mayank who have stiff landing, not soft landing.

Starc lands on toes and transfers his weight right from there, are you saying Mayank too does that?

Yes, that is called stiff landing, landing on forefoot. It helps in rotating the back foot. The backfoot rotation is important.

That is the most ideal case, weight transfer alongwith momentum

Steyn too had it

this thread used to be the hottest thread, with icf fans discussing new bowling talents.. wonder if anyone has insights or inside info into new fast bowling talents that may make their way into ipl teams this year ?

Ashok Sharma is going to play for sure.

He is picking up wickets in SMAT.

Ashok Sharma surely. 16 wickets from 5 T20s in SMAT. ER of 7.6

Gurnoor and Yudhvir may get more chances.

Yudhvir  9 wickets from 5 SMAT games. ER low too.

Gurnoor has not impressed in T20s but may get some games as he is a serious test match prospect.

Anyone saw the latest bowling action of Tyagi ? He has changed it again and is looking lot slower..

Maybe he has changed it again after you saw him. :phehe:

Safe to assume that he is not serious about cricket, and he perhaps is content in being the domestic bowler.

Given up on him. Does not happen often with Indian genuine quicks.

He will neither get picked by any IPL side, players who just fool around thinking they can just laugh their way to the bank doing zilch and not even interested to contribute for any of the side will be lost in wilderness

Australia’s fast bowling line up in this match besides Starc is absolutely mediocre. Boland is ok as a support bowler that’s it.  Low quality.
Trundlers galore. England should have punished them but those clowns fell to Starc again.

proves there is no place for sub 130-135 bowlers in red ball cricket ,atleast you should have bounce

Watched the replay https://www.hotstar.com/in/sports/cricket/chandigarh-vs-uttar-pradesh-replay/1540057477/video/replay/watch

Tyagi has changed his bowling action so many times that I have forgotten what his original action was like .

He looked a bit slower but still has that mean bouncer that can knock a batman's head off. If he is serious about bowling, he has to play a few seasons of Ranji and bowl lot of overs.

This was such a good action loading. Don't understand why he changed. He was easily clocking 150 then in domestic.
