Things ij progress about Sushant

1. He doesnt get much bounce, even after hitting good length the deliveries barely reach above the knee of the batsman.

2. Hasnt shown much movement, maybe one of match but looks like a straight arrow.

Nice observations.

To succeed at the top level a pacer needs atleast one among bounce or movement along with pace and accuracy.

If he lacks both then he needs to improve. His FC stats are poor.

Good things.

1. He is skiddy

2. Has the ability to bowl yorkers, much better than Prithviraj or Arshad.

3. Doesn't lose his marbles when asked to bowl in death

So he can be a good white ball bowler if he learns to move the ball

Sushant Mishra also clocked 140+. My categorisation of these three is Gurnoor and Eden Fast medium. Ashok Fast. Express pace has to be 150+ like Mayank and Umran did.

Mayank Kumar is now pseudo swing specialist, takes pride in bowling 132+

Sushant maybe 140k+ but I don't know whether he has the necessary skills yet.

Need to see him bowl.

If a pacer is very bouncy and tall as Gurnoor then he will be perceived as Fast at 2 kph or 3 kph less pace. Same with very skiddy pacers like Shami.

For me

Fast is 135 k to 145 k / 147 k with lots of balls at 140 k+.

Express is 140 k to 150 k / 152 k with lots of balls at 145 k+.

Fast-medium is 130 k to 140 k / 142 k with lots of balls at 135 k+.

145 k to 155 k / 157 k, with lots of balls at 150 k+ is Super Express.

One who is proper 150+ kmph is express , one who bowls a lot of 151+kmph consistently :: Wood

145-151 kmph is near express. need to be closer to 150 kmph than 145 kmph ::: Archer (when fit),Rauf, Pathirana (when Fit), Nortje

141-145/146 kmph is fast need bowl a lot of balls in 141- 143 kmph :: Bhumrah, Strac, Rabada

133- 140 kmph is Fast medium

A lot of credit should go to Morne Morkel.

All our seamers are bowling more accurate lines and hitting the deck with wobble seam - Arshdeep, Rana and even Shivam Dube.  Bumrah is the exception.

We are 14 years behind England in using wobble seam as the stock ball and around 8-10 years behind OZ/SAF.

Not sure if that's is morkel or any1 else, but this is the 1st time seeing all the domestic fast bowler who were know to bowl to some pace are getting game and being selected in the sides.

Have not seen this happen at domestics, alot of bowler who were in cold storages are coming back, if there is a some1 with lesser pace they are batting too. Yes there are still some team who are hanging on to trundlers but not many.

Ashok caught and bowled Jaiswal, bowls a hard length delivery at 141.8

Came in too quick than what the clock showed,Jaiswal was very late(need to work on short deliveries, seen him uncomfortable there)

It wasn't short enough to play the pull shot. It was a wrong shot selection.

Talking generally,he gets into uncomfortable position at those lengths

This wasn't short , already said,Ashok bowled a beautiful hard length delivery

I am seriously looking forward to seeing Sakib under the speed radar. The way the commentators were talking about his pace, he certainly has something extra about him. But if Ashok touches 150, ( and still the commentators spoke about Sakib's pace more than they talk about Ashok's speed), I am a bit confused. Either Sakib is clearly bowling above 145 on a regular basis, or Ashok's pace is not being talked about as much. But I do think Sakib to be extremely sharp.

Really good 4th over by Ashok.

Fastest of 149.9 kph

Started with a quick, accurate yorker in the high 140s.

Bowled Ankolekar with a 145.4 kph top of off ball that moved away a tad from the LHB.

Bowled a very quick and accurate bumper to Mulani which was top edged for 4.
