Shami was always more skillful and capable bowler than Siraj...yet he couldnt sustain his fitness for long and was dropped at age of 35 (officially). Siraj too will have his lows, he is getting proper rest these days so things are good. But the moment he gets an injury, it will be curtains for his career. Suhaan 1

He was quick and skilful from 2016 to 2023. A good 8 years in his career. 229 test wickets at 27.7 and 200 odd ODI wickets at 24.x plus ODI WC ATG pacer. Siraj is nowhere close to this. Just 5 years + in his test career and he has already declined. Averages 29.7 in tests. 75 ODI wickets so far. He does well in 1 match and goes missing for the next few. Can bowl 135 to 145 k but ususlly operates at 130 to 140 k. But still gets the reputation of giving a 100% all the time because of his body language, show of energy and gimmicks. Nikhil_cric Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Out of the 10 boundaries scored so far, only 1 has been scored from the stumps line or from the channel outside off. Line accuracy is disproportionately important in ODI cricket especially in these conditions/pitches for seamers

Ofcourse, I do give him the reputation mostly because of not just the body language, its the effort. And I think that is one of the most important part of a sportsperson, the effort and the grit. Just because someone has been hot and cold, doesn't mean someone has already declined. There's always a phase. However, to each his own. I know what I am saying, and it wouldn't bother me what you think of it, or how you perceive the same player.

Bumrah is around 32 now...you can expect he'll decline now pace wise. Gurnoor is blessed with height and control, pacewise, I would call him a 136-142k pacer. He can bowl faster as his action can be improved. Also, as he'll touch 26 in few months, time to include him is NOW. A couple of years of delay and we may lose him as well and he may become another run of the mill trundler. express bowling 1
