Arshad Khan is the "best" talent MPCA has offered in recent times. After the failure of Project Avesh, this is another garbage medicore cricketer they are throwing at us.

 

Kamboj, well he is the next gen trundler talent pasted onto us by MI & CSK. Apparently he has taken a 10fer against Kerala...and that ensures he gets every goddamn opportunity. He is the new "Deepak Chahar".

 

Likes of Gurnoor, Eden, Ashok, Mayank, Tyagi arent the flavour of the season. The above mahanayaks are.

While I really admire, Dravid the cricketer...to some extent Dravid the captain as well, Dravid the coach was extremely submissive. He never pushed hard our selectors to look for pacers have pace and bounce.

 

Infact, this is the problem I have with most of our ex cricketers...Sehwag, Laxman, Dravid, Kaif, Yuvraj...they all seems to be oblivious of the importance of pace. Ganguly perhaps was the only one who advocated pace...Sachin is always the quiet one so tough to say.

 

Recent times, Varun Aaron is the one who actually talks about importance of pace, I listen to him and I sense that he loves speed, probably coz he worked hard to generate that.

 

In IPL, Saba Karim & DDG was the only ones who were talking about the speeds regularly, quiet a surprise for me that keepers are talking about pace. Else, Umesh was mum almost all the time.

They mystery around Kamboj getting test debut, making it to emerging sides every single time and then India A is actually weird.

 

CSK fan base alone was responsible for his test debut in Manchester.  The hype they created prior to that game was something like he was second coming of Ambrose and Holding.  Johns and Mufa type chewts were on payroll perhaps.

 

Unfortunately our selectors and TM often give in to social Media pressure and that's why all this happens.

 

 

I just hope Gurnoor gets his ODI debut in Dharamsala at least.

Dravid and Mhambrey were running the NCA for a long time before Joining Ind team as coaches. They didnt prefer the fasteer bowlers and had nearly 0 vision.

 

Ind kept losing the bowlers like Bhuvi, Ishant, Umesh and Shami bt they never introduced high potential bowlers they picked Mukesh, Avesh ..etc..

 

Even in test they didnt create any kind of back-up for the batters too , they didnt not try out new batters and spinners.

 

GG for all his bad selection in Test at least is trying something , he get backlash on Rana but who are other bowlers he can pick ???

Can not do much with Odi side as top 5+1 are already locked. The side needs bowler both pacer and spinners, can not run each series and campaign on Bhumrah's shoulders

Just checked his recent scorecards he seems to have consistently lesser economy rate than the opposition scoring rate irrespective of the format and his list a numbers are decent. In one of the matches punjab scored 426 runs in 50 overs and he was the only quick with under 7 economy rate. He went at 6.5 in his 10 with a wicket while the other 2 were 12.83 and 10.66 and didn't complete their 10 overs and yet conceded more runs than him! I hope he's working on adding a few yards of pace as advised by Morkel(when he came to India as Pakistan coach) a while ago.

 

At 6'9 could very well be the backup for gurnoor at 6'5 if he's groomed with proper guidance.

He should follow the steps of Nitish Reddy to up his pace.

Even if not 140-145...if he can even bowl at 135-140k with such high arm release..he can be the Indian version of Ambrose.
