Mippa Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 As far as I know, The Southampton pitch is one of the best for test cricket here. I've seen a couple of County matches at the rose bowl. It'll be difficult for batsmen in Day 1 and 2 then it flattens in Day 3 and 4 and Spinners get help in day 5.

Look at how much grass Lords had first day, still lasted 5 days. High temperatures neutered that grass to some extent. If there is no grass, pitch will break and assist spinners earlier.
