CG Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 i am not criticizing team .they have my full support and i want every guy here to do well but it is just idiotic to just forget about bowler who had pretty decent away tour of australia and was only bright spot for us on that tour along with kohli . so those 4 tests lead to nothing for us bascally and we are starting from scratch again and what is it say it wont happen again with shami ? or bhuvi will not be forgotten like praveen? Yes its the problem with indian fans and selections it about short term gains.Look at how amla ,abdv were persisted through lean patch ,Hell look at kohli .If we can believe in batsman talent why be diff about a young bowler.

Shami had little control and hardly any threatening bounce or pace and then leaked runs. So Dhoni had to take him off for Jadeja and continued with Ishant on the other end to run through batting lineup. So at the most important phase of the 2nd innings, Dhoni went to Shami who wasn't accurate, couldn't bowl any faster even though he's bowled the least amount of overs, wasn't threatening and on top of that bowled mediocre line/length anyway without much movement and considerably lower pace earlier in the match. I'm sorry but if on that green pitch you can't bowl well, have no pace/accuracy or control then you deserve to be dropped. This isn't about sentimentality or "let's give him another chance." This is purely about destroying England while they are down. If I had my way we would drop Binny/Shami for Pankaj and Aaron. You need 20 wickets and England are prone to collapse again and again. You hit them hard with four genuine pace bowlers that can combined offer pace, movement, seam, etc then they'll fold like they did against Australia. Good idea. Nothing against shami but its important to rotate also. Shami did provide the ballance breakthrough and had catches dropped of his bowling but he doesnt pitch is full enough. Excited to see aaron and pankaj in but thats too drastic a change for dhoni. Will he play 4 seamers? aaron is no mug with the bat

No one is saying that he should be completely dropped and cut out of the team. You just have to weigh the factors for each test match accordingly and select the best team that's going to give you the best chance to win. This Indian side is not all that better than England, we just outplayed them in key phases thanks to several individual performances so we need to fine tune the team to further take advantage. If the Rose bowl was a pitch that took spin right from the 3rd day and had grip and turn then no one would be questioning if we go with two frontline spinners and drop Binny or Shami. Now that we know we can exploit England's batting weaknesses the way Bhuvi/Sharma did there's every reason to bolster the bowling attack with other guys that can do this better than Binny and/or Shami. It's as simple as that.

So let me understand is properly you want 2 spinners in team along with Binny ? sorry,i am editing since i was on ipad before so you are saying shami did not look threatening i can agree but shant did not much in first inning and bhuvi did not do much in last inning are you seeing pattern here ? these are young bowlers who will have ups and downs and since we are talking about individual problems lets drop kohli while we are at it i find it surprising that topic of binny is still debatable ,drop him and get bowler in and let jadeja and bhuvi do all rounder's job

If we were that good we should have been 2-0 up but we allowed Their tail to add s many runs in the first test.

The entire squad assembled and after an initial round of football, had a long session at the nets. For a few minutes, in jest, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli swapped their batting styles. Dhawan became a right-hander while Kohli in the guise of a southpaw, struck a few clean hits. The rest of the session turned serious as the batsmen, including the tail, wielded the willow. The bowling unit largely consisted of players who were not part of the playing XI such as Varun Aaron besides local club players.
