randomGuy Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 You're better off minding your own business. you too.
maniac Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 By any chance' date=' did you hear all this while they were drunk? If yes, then we should take it with a pinch of salt...have heard too many stories/ambitions/devil may care quotes from people who are drunk...it makes them feel 'cool'[/quote'] ....I am surprised though whenever me and my group of friends were drunk at that age, most times the topic would be about nationalism and how we would change the face of India and the next day was business as usual, may be the patriotism for these kids work differently :--D Also bachelor parties in India were mostly limited to alcohol and cigarettes when I was back home....now it's weed wow times have surely changed fast
Raghav_12 Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 you might have caught them in different mood :-) or you have hit mid-life a bit too early.
tothepoint Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 Somebody photoshopped this to show a screenshot from Salman Khan's Kick - and many people believed it - they didn't even stop to think how implausible it was - they just believed it because they saw it on FB/Twitter :wall: :wall:  Either you met up with a wrong group of students who got admitted in that acclaimed college through donations or they were too smart to give you a false impression of belongingness. Because anyone who is good enough to get into even a decent college in India on merit would know about 26/11, creation of Bangladesh and other such basic historical facts. They might not remember them in detail and also that they will naturally abhor any such discussion in a marriage setting didnt help your cause. Too much talk of weed and drinks must have clouded your judgement just like too much talk of history, career, conflicts by you would have clouded their judgements. Hyderabad's stuff is really good and you should have gotten high with them. Marco Polo, it is about time to repair your sarcasm detector and head to a village named Kasol in Himachal Pradesh. Jai Bholenath!
beetle Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 They are college kids. Can't expect them to take life too seriously. As for joining Army...it is not so simple ...besides most people are not cut out to be army men. Guys who want to join IT and have a set life are not meant for the Army and wouldn't be doing the Army any favors by joining.Besides the guys were at a wedding.....that is the time to have fun...not be party poopers.
beetle Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 I dont have alot of friends bcz am just tooo lazy to fake itna enthuuu to go out every other weekend :(( Poor hard working girl:((:icflove:
AmreekanDesi Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 I dont get whats wrong with this? These are kids in their early 20's if not younger. I will be 20 by the end of the year. Apart from the history bit which I am well versed in (But Im a history buff as you could tell from my thread history so my knowledge is def greater than the common guy), this describes me more or less too. Again, whats wrong with it?
AmreekanDesi Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Also I am pretty sure they have heard of 26/11 but just dont refer it with that stupid title. Ive been a year in the US and I would say that the avg American college student is way more ignorant than an avergae Indian college student. For the avg Yank, the world begins and ends with the US if not his hometown. I am being honest here when I tell you that a guy from my class in a top 25 National Univ in the US thought India was in South America. I am not even joking here. I admit this guy is an anomaly but even the average guy who has some clue abt the world doesnt know things like a city in India, or that India is the 4th largst economy in the world etc. There was another guy in class who said sth to the tune of 'Muslim speaking countries in Africa'
undisputed chap Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 I think they were just trolling a bit so no biggie. Just chill
