Its always important to see the player's technique and temperament and skill rather than just go by numbers. Jadeja has 3 triple centuries and average of 50+ in FC and so does Rohit Sharma and Manish Pandey and a bunch of others who are not that good to be honest. Scoring runs in FC in India is damn easy. You can't take them too seriously. Stats in first-class need to be considered because that's where all international players come from, they don't just appear out of the blue. They're also important to consider when we're comparing two players, because we get an idea of how well they play at the same level of cricket. A player with a good technique, temperament and skill should score runs in first-class cricket. There's no reason why he shouldn't. Also if you haven't been following cricket recently, Kedar Jadhav had a great 'A' tour to Australia, where he scored 3 fifties in 4 innings, including one in the final, all three of which were at a strike rate of well over 100. So he has not only proven himself in India but overseas as well.

express bowling Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 like i said there is no planning or consistency .. now look at this.. there is back up being send for injury of back up wicket keeper but n back up is being send for injury of 2 main front line seamers ... to me these current selectors are mixing formats and forgetting what they selected few weeks ago and its resulting in players being wasted i have n idea why bumrah and umesh did not bowl in odis at a tour level when umesh is in odi side and bumrah is in contention for all formats Agree completely.
