gazza Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 herath a shout surely, underwood there and there abouts also. graeme pollock, chanderpaul is another who could be considered, hussey as well and border, sangakkara. bowling does look a bit weak, wasim and davo pretty much definite's with the 3rd pacer spot going to vaas with herath/underwood for the spinner. i'd probably go herath for an attacking option but underwood a great option also.
sourab10forever Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 http://www.gocricket.com/news/On-Left-Handers-Day-an-all-time-lefties-Test-XI/articleshow/40178163.cms Awesome batting lineup but Bowling looks a little weak. ya...except wasim ebery one looks dull:nervous:
Muloghonto Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Matty Hayden Graeme Smith Brian Lara Alan Border Clive Lloyd Gary Sobers Adam Gillchrist Wasim Akram Alan Davidson Derek Underwood Bishen Bedi PS: I rate this middle order ahead of Sangakkara, though Sanga is the next in, IMO I also have Sobers as the third seamer. Sobers was a much better seamer than he was a spinner. I remember reading somewhere that Sobers averaged 26 as a pacer and 40 as a spinner though i dont know how reliable those numbers are. it is pretty certain that while Sobers was seen as a genuine new ball threat and a wicket-taker with the old cherry bowling pace, he bowled spin to hold one end up and rarely got more than 1 or 2 wickets bowling spin. So IMO, this side does not need a 4th seamer, I'd much rather go with 3 seamers and 2 spinners.

Brainfade Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 An all-time world lefty team without Allan Border as player and captain is like ...

Vettori! Totally forgot him, good call I was also thinking of Vinoo Mankad, one of the best allrounders ever
rkt.india Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 michael hussey over border' date='sanga? seriously? hussey was pretty poor against quality pacemen[/quote'] Hussey poor against pace? Dont think so. while Border was an opener, can replace him with Smith. Don't rate Sanga over Hussey.
