cricketman Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I think this is the worst state i've ever seen Indian cricket in. 3 consecutive innings of batting CATASTROPHES. Virat Kohli, our champion, our star, our glimmering source of hope... has been reduced to nothing. Cheteshwar Pujara, the second coming of Rahul Dravid, looks atrocious. 8,9,10,11 have done far better than any in our top order. And, the scary thing is, there are no alternatives. In 2011, we had aging stars, but at least we had some sort of comfort in the fact that the young guys would soon take over. They were knocking hard on the door, scoring triple centuries, tearing apart ODI cricket... and now we are here. There isn't another Pujara that can replace Pujara in domestic cricket. There aren't stories of a Varun Aaron bowling 150kmph somewhere in the fields of Jharkhand. They are all in England, getting owned by a team that just recieved a 5-0 hiding in Australia and was comfortably beaten by Sri Lankans at home. There is only an endless supply of hacks, FTBs, and trundlers waiting in the wings. Even the spinners have dried up to the point where Jadeja has been our primary spinner for the last 3 series overseas. First day of the 5th test, 2-1 down against an England team that has been TERRIBLE all year, against a team lead by a seriously shoddy captain and inexperienced top order, without the country's best ever batsman in KP. We tour Australia for four long tests in December. World Cup in 6 months. We need a new captain in tests but have no alternatives. Where do we go from here?? I have never felt so hopeless as a fan
amiret Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 The future looks so bleak So....just like the past ? Same as it ever was.
bowl_out Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Agree. What seems more scary is that this is the best batting line-up on paper considering alternatives we have from the domestic pool.... Would you replace Kohli, Pujara, Rahane, Vijay with some uncapped player? Maybe temporarily.
asterix Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 ^ everything will get sorted once BCCI and Team India rotten regime changes...
yoda Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 ^ everything will get sorted once BCCI and Team India rotten regime changes... Yes, you replace the captain and get a new BCCI chief, then Vijay/Dhawan/Kohli/Pujara will start firing 100s. :giggle:
NareshK Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 These are the toughest conditions I have seen India face in England. Previously, pitches used to have something for bowlers but not seamer friendly wickets like these. Conditions after 1st test have assisted pace, bounce, swing and seam movement. It will be a challenge to play in these conditions especially for batsmen who are not used to it.

That is unacceptable.

These guys are performing under duress and protest... The same guys won't he Lords test... Something after that... I'm guessing they were asked to play defensives for rest of the matches to get draws... These guys don't play like that. If you force them to do something which goes against their fighting spirit, they will rebel..,
nevada Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I disagree. It is the present which looks bleak. Kick out all these overrated spoilt brats and start afresh for a cleaner future.
fineleg Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 I disagree. It is the present which looks bleak. Kick out all these overrated spoilt brats and start afresh for a cleaner future. Thats just what happened when we kicked out the Maharathis a year or two ago! Again fresh start? With who? KL Rahul and Samson? in Tests?
cricketman Posted August 15, 2014 Author Posted August 15, 2014 Never seen the team so mentally beaten, that too after winning a test abroad
CSK Fan Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Yes' date=' you replace the captain and get a new BCCI chief, then Vijay/Dhawan/Kohli/Pujara will start firing 100s. :giggle:[/quote'] Happened in 2007 when a young Dhoni was put in charge. Team changed overnight, the likes of Yuvraj became demons
King Tendulkar Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Indian cricket is dead. Right now that's how I feel. I give up
Yoda-esque Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Right now that's how I feel. I give up But you will be back tomorrow saying the same thing

SLICKR392 Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Typical threads. So, India's the only team who has been going through such phase in the last 6-7 years? Need a change in the leadership department, apart from that its a fine young team.
tweaker Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 Instead of loosing with this highly paid superstars it good to groom new uncapped players who have fire in their belly.
flamy Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Wait till Oz :cantstop:
Laaloo Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Wait till Oz :cantstop: the southies are screwing the damn team :protest:
