There is a difference.No problem with people who willingly migrate regardless of state. For eg., most NE people come here as individuals searching for jobs. Many are studying in evening colleges too. The people I mentioned are bought here by agents and brokers, who are made to live in ghetto like places with absurdly low wage and made to work for 14 to 16 hrs a day. A few have died of malnutrition and the children are used for begging. Some escape and become petty theives and do other crimes. Remember the building collapse in chennai a month ago? Most who are dead are from karnataka and andra who are literally faceless with no identity. They are people, not some machines. It's better for both the people and the city to re-locate them. I agree, If there are any tamil people in other states like this, they also need to be sent back to TN.

Not sure why you make it seem a problem of immigration rather than a case of exploitation of labor.

I don't know about other places, but I remember few yrs back, there are some "rescue" missions here in coimbatore, where some social group bring back the unwilling migrats who are "sold" to agents. They bought back some 20 or 30 people. It should be done in a large scale.

But after city simply exploded with tremendous amount of urbanization. Lost lot of trees in the process. Apartments everywhere. Land prices shot through the roof, rental prices, everything went up. In 2011 they expanded the city from 176 sq km to [b']426 squ km.
Thats a joke actually from chennai corp, the city extends till Maraimalai nagar that 50 km odd from city center. Better infra than Bangalore, only thing bangalore lacks are the trains, chennai got lucky in that sense.

I have not found outsiders to be very welcome in this city. Language can be an issue and people can be snobbish instead of helping outsiders. Bangalore and Kolkata are much better in this regards. Just my opinion
Yup, Chennai people are pretty pissedoff most of the time its probably because of the heat and tough lifestyle that most of working class on the roads have, but you have to know how to get things done and not hate Tamils to like chennai so i pretty much love it. Besides there is a Salutation rule, after you say 'Sir' once even whilst addressing someone appearing to be in rags, they will accommodate you, the rikshaw wallas, the nukkad shops etc. Dont know about cal but found Delhi better than Chennai in terms of ease of assimilation, but the public transportation stinks literally, Bangalore is a whole diff league,love it totally.

Why do you think these people migrate in the first place?
I m not talking about people who willingly migrate. It's no different than the computer people migrating to b'lore. I m talking about those who are bought to metros as manual labours.
