I grew up in this city. I miss trips to Marina Beach during the weekend. I used to go to MAC stadium to watch some local cricket games too. Though I think city must have changed a lot now.

Biggest achievements from Chennai: India Cements CSK EM Yes Dhoni[/quote] :finger::finger::finger::finger::finger: Dhoni is a proud Jharkhandi and from my beloved hometown Ranchi :proud: Chepu plays for Punjab...is he a Punjabi? :dontknow:

Srini needed Dhoni more for CSK's popularity back in 2008 when IPL was formed than Dhoni needed Srini. MSD was superstar then and and the costliest buy which CSK did wisely hence their success and popularity. Its like in 1998-99, WWF needed Steve Austin more on monday night wars than Austin needed Vince's company. Due to Austin's popularity WCW is history today. Sometimes employees are bigger than employers and above two are prime examples.

Tony, Seeni are like earth worms compared to Chennai history. Let us ignore them. Until 2002 or 2003 chennai's growth was steady.. But after city simply exploded with tremendous amount of urbanization. Lost lot of trees in the process. Apartments everywhere. Land prices shot through the roof, rental prices, everything went up. In 2011 they expanded the city from 176 sq km to 426 squ km.

Certainly second greatest city in India after Bangalore' date=' ahead of Ahmedabad others dont matter.. :two_thumbs_up:[/quote'] I have not found outsiders to be very welcome in this city. Language can be an issue and people can be snobbish instead of helping outsiders. Bangalore and Kolkata are much better in this regards. Just my opinion

I read in a magazine that there are nearly 20 lakh manual labours who migrated from other states (mostly from cowbelt and karnakata, and now there are maharashtra and andra migrats as well). Need to send them back to make it a better place.
