nothing to do with government....this is done by common people like us...all communities do this... the only way this can change is when people starts migrating...move to different parts of country for work n stuff... years and years of living in the comfort zones of our own religion, own communities have made most of the people pretty close minded of any kind of changes...

Problem is many Jains and some Hindu communities make many building complexes exclusive for their religion. So this is a natural response
Thanks for info ..also there are many vegan only communities :wall:

Not the right solution. Should be discouraged. Also practice of saying no to muslims, or for that matter any caste or religion, for rental and purchase of apartments should be discouraged as well.

This is not a new thing, there are many community wise areas in all cities and towns. Most Muslims and to lesser extent Christians tend to live in a dedicated area with their community. And on top of that, many muslims will sell their property only to another muslim unless it's disputed. They also have a cusion in the name of the communal violence bill under "boycott of trade", where when a Hindu refuses to sell a property or rent/lease a land/home, they can get it done under this law and throw the Hindu in jail. There are few groups in and around the district where I live, who do this as a business using this law, target people with few cents of land , grab their property for cheap prices and sell them for higher price.

This might not be a popular thing to say but Muslims like to segregate themselves because its more easier to live their way of life. History has shown once they get close to majority they will try to dominate other communities, try to convert them, impose taxes on them etc. They can't co-exist with other people. Mindset has to change.

Like others have said, this isn't only Muslims. In posh areas of Ahmedabad, there are Dalit ONLY societies [0]. In Bangalore outskirts, there is a Brahmin ONLY society - where the application form asks for hazaar details like gotra etc. to weed out unwanted candidates [1]. Another example of a Jain/Gujarati/Marwadi ONLY society in Pune [2]. This is a symptomatic problem of the Indian society and not Muslims in particular. [0]

Rs 2500- 3750 / sq ft? Is residential property that cheap in Noida/Greater Delhi?
This is not in Noida or Delhi, it is in Greater Noida. 3000-3500 /sq ft is the current rate for under construction building in that city.

Very surprised by the naivete of some of the posts here. Most communities tend to live amongst themselves, members of the same flock et al. And the higher up you go the socio-economic ladder, the more blatant the discrimination/ insulated style of life. Would you be surprised if a well off but relatively obscure business person is not sold a flat in a society full of film stars? Every group wants to be exclusive, especially when they are slightly better off financially or socially than others ( or at least they perceive themselves to be better off) and lead their life their own way. This is not a Muslim only thing. This stuff happens everywhere. The slums are the probably the only places in urban India where you do not have these fake and exclusive social walls.
