BlueBee Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 What makes you think they will bowl just short pitch bowling. Besides he is a blind player against short balls.. Could go anywhere. All you have to do is pitch it full and straight. Makes sense. But we don't have a better alternative? Dhawan is more clueless against pace.

All you have to do is pitch it full and straight. Nope,Usually Puts them away. ALso The ball wont keep low so he can play the straight ball with a lot more confidence,You can see by the crouching stance at the end of the dismissals most of them went shin high and ROhit is not comfortable against such dead balls I agree that's his chink in armor,Give him bouncy stuff and watch them disappear all day :--D

zep1706 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 What's next? Dhoni should remain as test captain? :hysterical:
GolGappe Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 He is more worried about not stepping on anyone's toes and less concerned about expressing his own view.
Number Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Rohit walks into the team at the moment. We don't have many choices in ODIs anyway.

They just fall in the hands of the fielders.
FischerTal Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Rohit walks into the team at the moment. We don't have many choices in ODIs anyway. He's been tried everywhere. Now can only be tried to replace jaddu or ashwin as spinner
Bleed-Blue Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Dhawan is Worse Against Pace on Those types of Wickets Imo...
Austin 3:!6 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 We keep on debating who should open Rahane or Rohit but I amused not a single word spoken against greatest hack Dhawan. Why can't both Rohit and Rahane open and Dhawan watch the world cup from his drawing room? As I said multiple times before, Dhawan is our biggest liability.

As I said multiple times before' date=' Dhawan is our biggest liability.[/quote'] Dhawan is a matchwinner, has actually scored overseas unlike mr overrated aka mr tailunted aka lazy elegance mr roSh*t sharma. What has rohit done aside from the world t20 in the last 8-9 months? Like dale steyn said, he's done nothing in his career considering his opportunities. Rohit opens: Maidens, dots, odd boundary, puts pressure on dhawan and GONE, dhawan tries to up RR and he gets out. Rahane opens: Singles, 2s, backs his partner to settle in. Notice how dhawan performed better and got his 2nd 100 stand with rahane. When was the last time rohit and dhawan got a partnership? Rohit fans just look at numbers and not the match. Biggest liability is bowling. We concede less and get wkts > less to chase > less pressure on batsmen. Dhawan is a matchwinner! Rohit is not. Thats my opinion.
ThePhenomenal1 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Just stick rohit at 4, better to have him there than opening and crumble everything like he does.

For a guy with that awful technique and crap feet movement, he was never suppose to be a match winner. He was just going through a good patch and was bound to fail. Rohit Sharma I trust more because he got better technique.
Bleed-Blue Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Perhaps but at least Dhawan will score 15 runs off 14 or so balls with some hacks and get out. Nohit will sit there for 60 balls and score 26 odd runs and then get out putting pressure on India's best One Day batsmen in Kohli' date=' Raina and Dhoni.[/quote'] Fair Enough, Both Are Not really good enough for those wickets

Rohit Sharma I trust more because he got better technique.[/quote'] Whats so LOL at dhawan being a matchwinner? India vs Aus 3rd test, 1st day was rained out yet India still got a win/result because of dhawan's debut record-breaking innings. Champions trophy 2013 - no need for words there. Took attacks apart. Scored runs and kept the team winning from the WI tri series to AUS odi series. Wins are wins. He has struggled overseas too but has a good record in NZ and once he keeps improving and working on his technique, he'll be even better. If a guy like warner or finch can succeed, why not dhawan? Because he bats on sub-continent tracks? Who cares about rohit's technique? Has it ever won matches for india? Performance matters, temperament matters. Rohit has none of them. LOL at how you defend rohit over a guy that has won india games in his short tenure. He has issues but is working them out. I think uthappa or dhawan should bat with rahane. Both have century stands with rahane anyway. But for l/r combo might want dhawan. Rohit at 4 if you must.
vayuu1 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Good kength ,Bit of inswing on off and middle and he is a goner.
sensible-indian Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 No 4 is an important spot. A spot which holds the entire batting lineup together. Rohit should not play there.
sensible-indian Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Good kength ' date='Bit of inswing on off and middle and he is a goner.[/quote'] Yep. Good length. In seam or in swing. LBW or Bowled. Easy peasy.
flamy Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 :wall: Our squad looks dismal for the world cup. Nowhere near Contenders, forget Champions :((
