express bowling Posted July 22, 2016 Share Posted July 22, 2016 (edited) Kohli's highest score in tests was 119 before he embarked upon the last Australian tour, although he had 6 test centuries. He has scored 6 centuries since then and 4 of them have been 140+ with one 200 and a 169. If India wants to play with 5 batters then it is important that there is someone who scores big hundreds consistently and looks like Kohli it assuming that role. His first 200+ score may open the floodgates for many more...it has happened with many batsmen in the past. The high SR that he can play at makes big runs very valuable for the team. Kohli was in sublime form since the end of 2015 but was playing T20s mostly. I wanted him to utilize this form in test matches and he has made a good start.
