Most exciting prospects

Just wondered who the most exciting young players you've seen live at the ground recently are? I think for me it has to be Gary Ballance, who I saw score three hundreds last year, he really is a serious prospect, especially when you look at his record at all levels he's played. I'd also give a mention to Joe Root, although he has really begun to show how good he is. Who's the player that's excited you the most recently?

Sam Whiteman(looks set to be the heir apparent to Haddin), Mitchell Marsh(looks to be Twatson's worst nightmare' although I hope he learns how to play spin) Jordan Silk(looks to be a serious prospect and without doubt the best athletic fielder in Australia) Pat Cummins(doesn't cut it for T20s in my opinion and needs to be well taken care off), Steve Smith(has started to realize his potential since the Ashes in the UK), Joel Paris, Josh Hazlewood, James Muirhead and Jason Behrendorff from Australia. I personally hope that Jake Doran can blossom into the once in a generation batting prospect that every Australian is touting him to be . We need our future batsmen or we are in some serious trouble. Regarding the Saffas I love Quinton de Kock and Marchant de Lange, although the latter hasn't played a test since his debut . I love Rilee Rossouw and Trevor Bavuma from their exploits in the A tours. I still have a belief that Rossouw despite his bad luck in Zimbabwe will realize his potential. Simon Harmer, Dane Piedt, and Hardus Viljoen appear to be the next few bowlers on the rise . One honourable mention is Beuran Hendricks who flogged India in the A match last year but apparently he isn't suited to white ball cricket . I would like to see him in a test match before stating my judgement on him. The Kiwis produced quite the abundance of talented players the last few years . Kane Williamson is starting to realize his potential as a future great, and Trent Boult looks ready to partner Tim Southee for the next decade . Jimmy Neesham seems to have a great temperament , and I have to witness Sodhi playing live to really rate him . If Adam Milne becomes the serious threat that he was touted to be , then I wouldn't put it past them to crack the top 5 and even more in the future. They are a team in the rise with professionalism ingrained in their ranks . England have produced two valuable batsmen in Joe Root and Gary Ballance. The temperament from both these lads is astronomical. Ballance in particular seems to be the upgraded version of Jonathan Trott.

From India- Sanju Samson has to be the most exciting talent out there right now....Kuldeep Yadav a close 2nd-Big hopes for this kid as well. Pak-Back in the day they used to debut "16" year olds but anyways relatively young players who made an impact for a while atleast but these days I see only 30+ guys making debut for them :blink:...Raza Hassan is actually pretty decent and for a change has a clean action too. Sl-Srilanka is the opposite of Pak when it comes to newbies making an impact.where on one hand pak youngsters when they debut make an impact and then fizzle into mediocrity eg;Afridi,Malik,Umar Akmal etc etc,SL players become better players with age or as they play more eg;Desilva,Jayasuriya and even Matthews....so right now they only have boring players still. Aus-Mitch Marsh-this guy is the real deal....he has all the making of a future ATG...mark my words or go ahead and quote me in the future.I think another Mitch not named Johsnon-Mitch Starc from what I have seen in international cricket has shown more skill and temparament than Pattinson,Cummins and other hyped bowlers....there is a reason why Aus latest success has been with experienced bowlers like Johnson,Harris and Siddle....I am not sure if Steve SMith is still counted as a prospect because he has been for a while and when everyone called him a hack,I knew this guy was something special....He is the future Steve Waugh and infact more exciting to watch when in flow than Steve Waugh ever was. Bang/Zim-No Clue S.A-Quinton de Kock has to be the name....De Lange is all Hype will fizzle out....Phangiso will be a very handy ODI bowler but obviously nothing exciting about him. Nzl-Kane Williamson obviously if he is still touted as a prospect after being around for some time.....Trent Boult and Neesham definetely....I think Neesham's batting is vastly underrated and I wont be surprised if he ends as one of Nzl's best batsmen. England-Always said Joe Root-The guy is the real deal...can play Spin,good against pace and has shown he has the game to perform across all formats and conditions....Ballance will fizzle out,Not good enough...Also their allrounders are a joke lol...mediocre players,nothing but a faster versions of Ealham and Irani..Getting wickets agaisnt a mentally shot Indian team is no biggie.

Exactly . This could en up being a great era for the Kiwis. This is coming from an Aussie . They have that professionalism in the dressing room and the right personnel to help catapult themselves into the top tier teams . They are underrated .

absolutely - Boult and Southee are brilliant, Watling gets the job done as a keeper, Williamson will score 10000 I'm almost sure of it, they just need another opener, Neesham to start taking wickets and a spinner - Sodhi and Craig don't convince - they either need to find a Moeen Ali type allrounder and pick another seamer, or convince Jetan Patel to come back (trust me having seen him for Warks over the last year or so he is so much better than the average bowler who played for NZ a few years back).

Players like Williamson and Root are already mainstays of their respective country's batting orders, they are not exactly future prospects. My List (One from each major country): Aus: I feel Joel Paris will develop into a world class bowler if he remains injury free and continues to improve Ind: Kuldeep Yadav - Have high hopes on him, hope he develops into India's frontline spinner for coming years Eng: James Taylor - Should replace Cook soon in one day cricket SA: Hendricks - Next in line after the current trio NZ: James Neesham - Next Chris Cairns type proper allrounder WI: Brathwaite - Seems a good prospect Pak: Honestly, whenever we name a prospect he either regresses or starts fixing matches. So better not having any expectations.
