Sri Lanka to replace WI, to play five ODIs

Sri Lanka are expected to fill the void that has been created by West Indies abandoning their current tour of India. Sri Lanka Cricket has agreed "in principal" to a series of five ODIs in November. West Indies decided to pull out of the tour after Friday's fourth ODI against India in Dharamsala because of an ongoing payment structure dispute with WICB and WIPA. "In principal we have agreed to accept India's invitation to play five one-day internationals," Sri Lanka Cricket secretary Nishantha Ranatunga confirmed on Friday. "Initially India wanted us to play a T20 international as well but we decided that with the World Cup only a few months away playing five ODIs would be beneficial to both teams," he said. Ranatunga stated that the five ODIs would be played between November 1 and 15 and that a final itinerary was awaited from the BCCI. He said the decision to accept India's invitation was taken after consultation with the Sri Lankan coaching staff and the national selectors. It will be Sri Lanka's first tour to India in almost five years.

Oh crap..even a tour to Ireland would have been better than playing against kindian minnows..SLC should have rejected the offer by the bcci no matter how much they begged..We shouldn't show any pity to a bullying board that is trying everything to sabotage our team.. Seriously BCCI, swallow your pride and play against the likes of Afghanistan, Ireland and Netherlands. Push cricket in these countries and help make their national teams better. It's getting fućking boring playing against the same 7 teams year-in-year-out.
