Detonator Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 I experianced many but none could beat this. Last sunday, me and my cousin went to sholayar to visit a relative's tea estate, which is a bit close to reserve forest. At first, we saw a lone tusked elephant standing from around 200 or 300 ft away from the road. I couldn't get a clear picture, so we attempted to approach it to take a closer pic. We took the jeep in reverse off the road. You can see a glimpse of him at the center-right corner. We got down and walked some 10 or 12 ft into the forest. All of a sudden a little calf appeared out of nowhere. When I say little, it's relative term as the calf is 'only' 5 ft tall. I didn't knew that I m actually surrounded by a family of elephant. I walked backwards slowly while clicking with my camera, and that little one was following me. My cousin was standing some 4ft away from me, so he quickly got into the jeep and ignited the engine. Then I saw another calf coming out. While I was focusing him, again out of nowhere, a larger elephant appeared right next to us. It's his big sister I guess. She is 'only' 8 foot tall. And she was standing just some 20 ft away from me. Luckily, it's not the mama elephant, or else we would be dead by now. My cousin thought that I climbed into the jeep, so he moved the vehicle. My balls came to my throat, I shouted at him and he stopped. Thank God, he didn't accelerated faster. So I started running backwards to the jeep, which is apparent in these pics. She wasn't following us, instead she blocked the path between us and the calf. May be she is protecting him. The two rules one should follow if encountered by a wild elephant. 1. Don't turn your back and run, the elephant will charge at you and will catch u in like 5 seconds. 2. Even If it charges at u, just stand ur ground and shout. The elephant will go away (if u are lucky) To get an idea, jeep was in the same place where this elephant is standing. And I walked some 8 ft inside the forest. If I didn't notice the second one, I would ve been surrounded :(( To make things worse, once we moved, the tusker which I attempted to capture earlier, appeared. And he charged at us. I m sure, he is almost 13 or 14 foot tall, just his tusks are as tall as me. :fear: . I can't take his pictures as we were was busy running for life. :hehe: And this fellow was laughing at us, stadning some 500ft near the elephant clan.

My heart started pounding like a hammer and I raced out of my flat in open parking area. That was the most heart-pumping moment for me.

Precambrian Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 when I had a fight with a couple of goons at the middle of night in a deserted alley. One if the goons managed to concuss me by hitting with a brick on my head, i was semi dazed, held from the back by one guy while the other took a knife and aimed to slit my neck. Last moment I somehow managed to wrestle and make contact at his genitals with my feet but by which time he already swished the knife. Ended up with a deep cut on my cheek instead of neck or eyes. The adrenaline rush was amazing that I was losing copious amount of blood, losing my consciousness but I was chasing these guys till I lost consciousness and fell down. Luckily someone saw and came running, got me admitted to a hospital.

maniac Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Here is one of the incidents that happened to me After college,I got a job offer from a leading Bank in India....Apart from the usual background checks, etc one of the pre requisites was a thorough medical check up probably the most thorough check up I have ever had in my life... So obviously a part of this check up was also the ELISA test-for those of you who don't know,it is for HIV. Anyways I walk into that room, they take my blood and I am all done....so I walk out and wait outside for my next test which is in the same block....after a few minutes one of my future colleague who I had met earlier in the day,who was also going through all the tests comes to me and says the nurse from the elisa test room is looking for you. My world came crashing down....how can I have HIV :(( ,I was still a virgin, never had blood transplant....was it the rusty gate that struck me while playing as a kid???did some guy stab me with a needle in a dark movie theatre? At the same time,I was planning suicide, how do I do it?Should I swallow pills?jump from a building?Hang myself? So I walk in to the room and the nurse tells me,You forgot your forms here earlier and hands them over to me. Scariest 5 minutes of my life
