Bowling - Akshar slightly ahead than Sir for me Akshar seems very tight and also is getting wickets but got to see how he does in Aussie conditions Batting - Both on par At the position they will be batting it is more likely that we will require someone who can score a quick 40 or so and Akshar from what I have seen is on par with Sir or even better at hitting ability and scoring quick runs Fielding - This we have got to give it to Sir Sir is obviously the better fielder, but Akshar is not that much behind Overall - I would prefer Akshar for now as he is the better bowler as the fifth bowler in team that is very important and our spinners have struggled to pick wickets overseas which I hope Akshar remediates. Pour in your thoughts as to who you think is better suited for the team at present.

Hope I am proven wrong though!!!

sticky wicket Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 Just from limited opportunities in ODIs and from IPL, Clt20, Akshar is outbowling both Jadeja and Ashwin. Yet to see him taken to cleaners in of the above formats.

Hit a couple of lusty blows in the later part of the innings in the first ODI, but still too naive... He did that a couple of times for KXIP as well.... Still Jadeja has the edge for now, given that he is seasoned... Fielding, Jadeja hands down... So, I'd still say Jadeja has his nose ahead now, but Axar is good potential

mancalledsting Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 we have predominantly seen Axar in IPL/CLT20- minimal international exposure so far- so fully informed assessment is not currently possible- but from what ive seen so far: Akshar is more of a solid and orthodox batsmen- why? because he is top hand dominant- Jaddu is bottom hand dominant- on his day I think Jaddu would be more destructive but he only comes off 1 in 10- a bit like Afridi of modern times, whereas Axar seems to be able to consistenly produce a solid batting performance. Regarding the Sir tag- I think Axar's batting acutally resembles the style of Garry Sobers Bowling wise- Jaddu is more likely to run through a team on his day- whereas Axar is like Daniel Vettori- you'll consistently get 1-39 type performances, whereas Jaddu can be smacked around a bit if the opposition gets a hold of him Fielding- Axar is also very good but Jaddu is amazing Temperament- based on what Ive seen so far, Axar has one of the best temperaments Ive seen from a young cricketer- although observing this at ODI/test level will put this to the test I think we need to give Axar as many ODI matches as possible until the world cup- has the potential to be a clutch player jaddu has issues with consistency- I think he needs more time in Ranji/county
