Drop Shami and bring Umesh Yadav

No pace whatsoever from Md.Shami, giving a lot of width for batsmen to play their shots. With players like Clarke in the ranks, we cannot afford to bowl like this. Bring in Umesh Yadav who is yard quicker. I am not sure how Bhuvi will do in Australia as he is slow too.

Shami was rubbish in England while Aaron was most threatening in the two matches he played. Shami is lacking intensity. He neither has enough pace nor consistency or swinging the ball. Wayward bowling at 135k on average wont take him anywhere.

In ODIs, he has been doing well because he picks up wickets. He doesnt have to bowl a lot of overs. 3-4 overs spell. There, he can maintain intensity, but lacks the fitness to do that in tests. He was decent in SA and NZ, but hasn't looked the same since England. He needs to work on his action. He will never be consistent if he doesn't improve that.

He will never be consistent if he doesn't improve that.[/quote'] AGree... all things said...I think Shami will be our MVP in WC,We have already seen he doesnt have the intensity for tests,so might as well keep him for Odi's and WC were he will be valuable and will do well for us and not waste him here

Shami is an average unthreatening kind of bowler. The reason he was successful in his debut was because he bowled with tremendous intensity and was able to get reverse swing. Ever since, he has been a disappointment. I don't think he even deserves a place in the Test squad.

Look at Mitch Marsh. Same pace as Shami, but a lovely action and accuracy as good as McGrath. Will be handful on a seaming track with his outswing.

If BK fit - drop Shami and Karan Sharma. Play Ishant, Aaron, BK and Umesh - 4 bowlers, plus spin of M.Vijay and Rohit and Kohli (dibbly-dobbly)

I don't think we can play 4 pace men. Unless it's an absolute green top, we should play 1 spinner. At the very least it offers variation and if there is a tight match that goes in to day 5, they become quite useful.

I saw the Mumbai TEst from wankhade - west INDIES was batting and this guy bowling 140+ ON a FLAT TRACK....NO west Indoes batsman including their top batsman knew how to handle SHAMMI... He is GOOD - He is Fast and He has the Talent. Just that He has not been able to deliver continuously and exactly LIKE AGARKAR.. bowls one or 2 easy boundry balls in an over and some times does not bowls to his field. where as the less pacy Bhuvi bowls exactly to his fields and I beeing one of the biggest trundler haters also has to accept Bhuvi's expertise and hats off to him. Shammi will spoil his career if he does not focus well as there are at least 3 to 4 pacers very close to him now... Pankaj DINDA( recent form) Bumrah Shardul Thakur- i feel he is very talented. these 3 to 4 guys are very close to challenging him. But i still repeat the best 5 pacers that we have ar ishant umesh varun shammi and bhuvi only and selectors haev got it very correct. Hats off to them.

Varun AAron is our Spearhead- the best we have in INDIA. He should play All tests in india and Abroad. he is a wicket Taker even if he is at 60 %. only thing to see before picking him is his fitness. u dont compare a mule and a horse...horse will always run faster and preferred over a Mule. Varun is destined to become one of the best in the world.
