India has done better than expected on this tour. The team is inexperienced and is unable to win important match sessions. They have already performed better than the previous tour down under. Batting wise our batters just need a bit more overseas exposure. Bowling has always been a problem for us so I am not sure whether things will improve on this front. We need a different captain obviously.

Catching needs a lot more improvement too.Bowlers will automatically look better if catches are taken.

I think this is last test series for Dhoni and even though I am his fan, I wont be dissapointed if he quits test cricket. We will not be playing any overseas tour anyway for long time now. I think the next test series is in Bangladesh and then against Pakistan in UAE (if the series goes on). Perfect time for Kohli to take over the captaincy and a new Wicket keeper batsman in the familiar conditions. Only thing I will be dissapointed with is that Dhoni have to retire with this blame of being an unsuccessful captain. He will not get an opportunity to redeem himself. A very sad way to go for a skipper who probably won us everything in LOI's :((

Wont spend time defending myself, had hopes for this series considering the seniors are gone now.Our batting has improved considerably but our bowling has a long way to go yet. In the midst of this , Dhoni has not shown the qualities to lead .He had the benefit of doubt,but no more.It is best if he retires and I would say from LOIs as well...

Pretty much agree with your entire post....but slightly disagree there...Our bowling has always been our achillies heel and when they perform once in a blue moon like they do our batting needs to step up but it hasn't happened..Less said about the fielding better...can't beleive a bunch of oldies were a better fielding unit than these young athletic players....2011-2012 was a bunch of legends at their twilight......These new gen have only showed flashes of brilliance but no one has stepped up and taken the mantle...this goes for Kohli too,I expected him to be a run machine like SRT,while in ODI's he is definitely getting there,in tests he has been a disappointment....with Rahane and Vijay there is hope but they have not had that defining series yet...Pujara too has a had a start and stop career far from his 60+ averaging days. Vijay has had 2 succesful tests...hope he carries on but going by the trend I see him going into relaxation mode like it happened in England with him and Rahane.

Ishant was the mofo who gave Mith all those hit me balls but he has done ok in the last session and the 100 runs diff in first innings will be forgotten. I think Aarons time is up, shami will probably replace him
