Although I don't think Dhoni is a great captain at test level, he is right though. You do have to focus on the process. What he said makes absolute sense. I think if this quote came from Graeme Smith or Steve Waugh in their prime, no one would think it's a big deal.

As Mark Taylor said, Dhoni encourages bad bowling himself by putting old field placements. That leg slip invites bowling on legs which isnt good bowling and bowlers are bound to stray if you bowl there. Test matches are still played conventional way, bowl outside off on good length, keep it there consistently.

If the "process" yields the same results again & again, then its time to either change it or discard it.. But end of the day one is only judged by results
