Crookbond Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Not a case per se but he did do this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subramanian_Swamy#Role_in_exposing_2G_spectrum_scam In May 2009, an NGO filed a complaint to CVC about Loop and Arun Agarwal complained about Swan Telecom spectrum allocation. It is after these complaints that the CVC immediately directed CBI to investigate 2G spectrum allocation irregularities. Swamy as usual was on a personal crusade against A Raja like a real-life troll. His petition to the PM to prosecute Raja under the Prevention of Corruption Act was rejected. He took both these petitions to Delhi HC and SC which threw them out. In effect, Swamy wasn't the one to "expose the 2G Scam" and neither did his petition, PIL have any warm start on the proceedings.
Mariyam Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 At that time Films did not even show Indian army fighting Pakistan. They just used word Hamare dushman.Inter religion hero heroines ' date=' inter caste couples were not even shown .Film industry at that time hardly touched sensitive topics . A film like PK was unthinkable in 70s[/quote'] Nothing of the sort. In fact, the movie Bobby, from where I've picked these lines was a love story between people of two different religions.
Mariyam Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Fine dude my apologies.... but the basic gist of what I said remains the same and the fact that he knows his law pretty well. I will admit that I thought he had a law degree somewhere by education as he was minister for Law in the 90's. And AK Anthony must have been a former commando, a fighter pilot with a specialization in unarmed combat. You're treating Swami's tweets as gospel. If there is ISI funding for the movie, the courts should suo motto ask the CBI to thoroughly investigate the account ledgers of the Production house. That it hasn't happened (yet) shows how seriously the courts take these allegations by Swami.
Mariyam Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 The movie Oh-my-god too faced threats and AK (Akshay) was provided police security... That maybe the case. But I don't recollect any groups having vandalized theatres over it. Also, my question was would it annoy Asterix just as much as these lines have.
surajmal Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Allow the mockery to flow both ways and abrahamics will have their chaddis in a knot in no time. Otherwise, why should hindus feel offended. On the contrary, this time around incidences like these are being to used to bring awareness among the meek and unware hindu masses. Endgame of the sickulars is near.
hhunaeh Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 If there are people benefitting from something unfair in hinduism, they will use the same argument, attack on hindusim, they are using now to shut down all forms of criticism and continue to benefit from the unfairness. I haven't seen PK so i cannot comment on anything specific related to the movie, but this reaction is not some thing new and it is not because of bhajrangi stupidity, people should realize this.
diga Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 That maybe the case. But I don't recollect any groups having vandalized theatres over it. Also, my question was would it annoy Asterix just as much as these lines have. Vishwaroopam?
diga Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Akhilesh Yadav makes PK tax free... does he think that Muslims will vote for him because of this? ps: Aamir Khan is laughing all the way to bank..great marketeer
coffee_rules Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Nothing of the sort. In fact, the movie Bobby, from where I've picked these lines was a love story between people of two different religions. That was between Hindu (so-called as Rich are secular) and Christian. The first movie to show a romance between Hindu and Muslim (2 major sensitive religions) in a mainstream movie, was probably in ''Bombay".
Mariyam Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 That was between Hindu (so-called as Rich are secular) and Christian. The first movie to show a romance between Hindu and Muslim (2 major sensitive religions) in a mainstream movie' date= was probably in ''Bombay". Besides, Tiger80 was talking about inter caste/ inter religious love stories. And Bobby clearly is that. Julie is also on the same lines as Bobby. I don't quite get your point wrt to being affluent and secular either. According to you, is Christianity an insensitive religion then?
Mariyam Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Vishwaroopam? Vishwaroopam vandalized theatres because he found Oh My God offensive?
mishra Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Akhilesh Yadav makes PK tax free... does he think that Muslims will vote for him because of this? ps: Aamir Khan is laughing all the way to bank..great marketeer Bulls eye for PK. :((
bulbul Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Bulls eye for PK. :(( Misjeee long time no see :woot:

The Outsider Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 Ya Ghalib sharab peene de masjid par baith kar, ya aisi jagah bata jahaan khuda nahin, shamelessly stolen from PK. The movie is trash.
coffee_rules Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 According to you, is Christianity an insensitive religion then? Besides, Tiger80 was talking about inter caste/ inter religious love stories. And Bobby clearly is that. Julie is also on the same lines as Bobby. I don't quite get your point wrt to being affluent and secular either. Ok, from bollywood movie history , christians were the one depicted as ones with loose morals. Drinking alcohol, dating, multiple partners were the stereotypes used by bollywood writers. It was all fine with no writs, PIL, or protests. Hence , Bobby and Julie were not pathbreaking in 70s IMO. Any mixing of Hindus and Muslims was out of limits until Bombay where Aam junta from Hindu and Muslim community was shown romancing . Rich are less conservative and beyond religion even socially in India. So a romance story between rich Hindus and poor christians was not something revolutionary. MeA or MkS, were rare. I still agree with Tiger80 that a movie like PK couldn't have been made in the 70s.
Precambrian Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Brilliant movie. Contrary to what fringe morons believe, this is a truw hindu movie, and celebrates the ability of its to introspective and correct itself. I'd rather be offended of I were minority that this movie sort of insultingly ignores issues in other religions.
RedFever Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Pirate Akhilesh: UP CM says he 'downloaded' PK, gets ridiculed on Twitter http://www.firstpost.com/politics/pirate-akhilesh-up-cm-says-he-downloaded-pk-gets-ridiculed-on-twitter-2026159.html The report quotes him as saying, "People had been telling me for many days to watch PK.
