MSG row: Censor board chief quits, alleges govt interference with films

its not just the congress mind you with me. Its the entire left wing spectrum. I for one wont mind if the censor board is filled with Shiv sena men....
What good would happen if the entire left wing spectrum is replaced with the entire RSS/BJP brass?? We need a middle ground and I'm sure you know that but are not willing to accept it bcoz of your strong feelings towards Cong/Left. Making sure that people with affiliation to Left/Cong are sacked/removed is well and good (and they deserve to be removed) but filling it with RSS/BJP men is not the answer.

these people have had their fun for 60 plus years. From times even before India was independent. Its only fair BJP have theirs for 10 plus. Then maybe we can move to a more neutral discourse. Its funny how the left wing media are crying now that the right wing have their own people in charge. Where these people blind that the bharatnatyam teacher of Privyanka Vadra was censor board chief? I made a youtube video once so even i can become censor board chief?

You might be in a position to afford having the party in power having fun at the expense of the Cong/Left but a majority of this country doesn't have the luxury. They gave BJP such a commanding mandate so that it can rule properly instead of making money for itself (as Cong/Gandhis did) or taking revenge for acts done over the last 60 years. Also, what you term as 'fun' might very well be termed as playing with India's future when Dr. Batra is made head of ICHR or other people from RSS are connected with HRD ministry. We need to move to a neutral discourse NOW.

They have voted for the BJP for a variety of reasons. Crucially for the economy. So long as Modi delivers on the economy they will continue to vote for him. Its quite similar to Turkey when secular there mismanaged he economy and Erdogan got voted in. The truth is nobody really gives a **** about what some loser left wing author has to write about. The same goes for the right wing. The way i see it if Modi gets the economy growing at 8% plus in 2018-2019 and has an inflation at about 5% he will return to power. Its as simple as that.

Same debate with Bharat Ratna for Vajpayee and MMV. As soon as it was announced, there were op-ed pieces and debates (in NDTV) as to the award becoming political and losing it's value. Abuse of the award by Nehru/IGandhi and Congress over the last 60 years was conveniently forgotten. Suddenly, people start to debate on how it should not be political and only neutral people should be awarded. Look at this nutjob: http://www.thenewsminute.com/news_sections/2470

What was so great about Vajpayee and Malaviya, both don't deserve Bharat Ratna: Justice Katju

People do give a **** about what he (or others from RSS) has to write about bcoz these people are now involved with the HRD ministry hence they directly impact education in this country. And I also read that they are involved in the health ministry - you have already heard their views about how Indians invented medicines/remedies to so many diseases many centuries ago even though there is hardly any proof- you want students to learn that?

^ these guys were never so worried in all these years.... All their preaching are for BJP only... As if BJP has taken all the contract of being politically correct only...

There's nothing wrong in giving it to AtalJi - he deserves it. In case of Malviya, he passed away decades ago - I don't see the point of giving posthumous medals (at most they should now have a limit of 5/10 years after death). And if the only thing Modi had to do after coming to power was to continue the bad practices of Cong (like giving Bharat Ratna to someone who passed away so many years ago or involving people from BJP in sensor board) then what is the difference between him and Cong?

I must say I am surprised that intelligent people like you all have absolutely no problem with such institutions like ICHR' date=' many parts of the education system, Sensor Board etc go from one extreme of bigotry (Left) to the other extreme (RSS etc) so long as you have your revenge.[/quote'] its not about revenge.. its about correcting a few follies of the past

Removing Leela Samson (who was partial to Cong) and appointing Nihlani (who is partial to BJP) is not called 'correcting a folly'. Its simply the same thing that Cong did when it was in power (and will probably do again if it comes to power).

I will say however that Modi has also appointed Arvind Subramaniam as his chief economic advisor in spite of him being his critic. I think in this case BJP wanted to make a statement. Pahlaj Nihalani is better than some RSS guy. It could also have been some other unknown guy who could have been a supporter of Modi and you wouldn't have known. Will he be biased ? Yes,in case of anti Modi movie, not otherwise, I don't think

I really doubt that. Its very well us sitting on the net but for the common man food prices jobs etc are the number 1 issue.

Modi is extremely media consious. He has made this clear on multiple occasions and we also know how the media was used in the general election. Movie world is just a few steps apart from the media. So there should be no surprise that a suckup and a chamcha was given the top post. I am more surprised at people being surprised.

He's not the only one there - most of the new members have a BJP connection thats the problem.

I would think that education of their children would also matter. Its just that the common man (at least till now) doesnt really know that RSS is so involved in education now or that how 'modern' or "impartial" are RSS's views on many topics.

I would think it's still better than making movies named Shola aur Shabnam, Aag Hi Aag, Aag Ka Gola, Paap Ki Duniya, Mitti aur Sona! :giggle:

PRODUCERS SHOULD NOT MAKE CONTROVERSIAL MOVIES': AN INTERVIEW WITH THE NEW CBFC CHIEF PK and other movies, they were cleared by a UPA government’s nominee. They have started creating the problem. ^BTW he doesn't seem to realize that if producers listen to him and stop making controversial films then there wouldn't be much need for a sensor board and he would out of his job
