Now, he has sympathy and they have nothing. This guy's family did not deserve to suffer at the hands of this unscrupulous woman, but remember that she was only wielding the weapon handed to her by the millions of ar$3wipes who tortured and harassed their wives and families for money. This problem will disappear when that problem disappears.

The law was brought in to get some relief to a large majority of women who had to bear abuse as a part and parcel of marriage. Things haven't changed much at the ground level as most women have been brought up to value marriage more than their happiness and sometimes even their lives. The ones who do end up using them are those who have been pushed against the wall.....or the ones who find it as a convenient law to abuse. A majority of the abused women still rather bear with it than risk being divorced. These laws didn't come into being for no reason.The women in this country have a long way to go before they can get a fair deal in life.These laws do act as deterrent in cases where women are aware of their rights. These laws will continue to have meaning till women are seen as unpaid servants and fair game for abuse in their marital homes. The faster people learn to treat a wife and daughter in law as a human being....the faster such laws will lose their meaning .

Especially if the wife is too much dependent on husband this is what happens. I browse through comments section whenever there is talk about gender discrimination. I can see majority of the american males just pounce on the women even in social network.You could see them get so many likes for that. It is not culture. It is genetic if you ask me. Why else muslim has men has a law that say men can have multiple wives but women cannot have multiple husbands. This superiority complex is inbred. One of the reason women prefer to stay quiet is because they have nowhere to go after marriage as most of the parents convince her to go back. Having said that there are some incredible nice men out there taking care of his wife. Liquor is one of the major reason where these things get triggered. You lose your senses you behave like an animal under the influence. Women bear it since they feel he will be alright after he becomes sober. Over a period they become numb to spousal abuse. Especially if they have kids they just bear it for the kids. Even among celebrities it happens. .Sean penn one time beat his wife Madonna for 9 hours. He abused her until she reached a breaking point and called the cops. They have support groups for that.

Let them rot, as Indian men we don't need to give them anything. They have scarred people mentally and made life difficult for Indians, both men and women, all over the world, in one way or another, women more directly than men. I am just talking about how alcohol makes a big role in lot of crimes like rape and domestic violence. Because I have seen people who are so decent normally doing crazy things under the impression of alcohol. Alcohol has a huge effect on your brain. It can make you daring, it can make you fear. People who wont do things normally can do those things when they are drunk. People are unable to differentiate between right and wrong. Sometimes, people do things under the influence of alcohol which they later regret when they come out of the effect of alcohol. Why should I defend them or stick up to them? They themselves are responsible for whatever they did.

My point is we can have a lot less number of such crimes if men start prohibiting alcohol.

Alcoholism creates brain fog, and one fails to make out right from wrong.
