gakgupta Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I have been seeing his bowling and very very happy with his conventional off-spin. He is varying his speed well....he is using crease well .....and most of all, he put the dark art (carom ball) in the cup board.... Now, after 5 matches, I can say he is the best spinner in the tournament....well there are close contenders in the form of vettori and Tahir....but I would rate him ahead of them in this tournmanet ...mostly because of the way, he is getting his wickets (conventional way)
sensible-indian Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 He has been very good. But one thing I noticed was that he does get whacked when he comes for a second spell (1st over). Needs to use his arm ball and not loop it too much all the time when the batsmen are going after him in slog overs/batting PP. Needs to go for a mix. Once he works out the best way to bowl in that situation, he will be unstoppable at every stage of that game.
Gollum Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Don't expect many replies in this thread bro. Most hated cricketer in ICF. Majority on this forum want him to fail so that they can say 'I told you so...'.
Utalk Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Very underrated spinner on world stage. This guy is pure class. Love how he varies his flight and teases batsmen.
Lord Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Definitely hes cut down on stupid varations and just bowling offspin from over the wicket.
Detonator Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Hardwork :dontknow: hope he performs like this throughout the tourney. Don't expect many replies in this thread bro. Most hated cricketer in ICF. Majority on this forum want him to fail so that they can say 'I told you so...'. ICF hates most of the playing 11whoever it is :giggle:

rkt.india Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 He has not been bowling defensively like he used to before, bowling on legs, etc. Bowling with mindset of taking wickets.
renjith Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 If ashwin can maintain this form in kos, india has a very good chance. waiting to see him against the likes of maxwell, macullam, corey anderson, ... Wish jadeja as well get into some form before kos.
Sachin=GOD Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Thats because The Sachinists picked him in our team :proud:

BeautifulGame Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 He always turns for the ICC tournaments as well. Was class in the CT final But tbh his leg side line was tearing the hair apart. So the criticism was deserved IMO Hopefully he sticks with this positive line and length for rest of the matches as well
f.b.m Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Has has been bowling well for a while now. Hasn't always reflected in his figures especially in the test series.
Asim Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 He is v good T20 and decent ODI bowler... Should take retirement from away-Tests though...

Has to be protected from Maxwell and only given a bowl if no other bowler is able to get his wicket.

If he continues bowling like hes doing, hes got a good chance.Just need to keep attacking Maxwell. You cant contain him

If it was even turns slightly he will get the better of him in Sydney .All ipls matches Maxwell hammered him were on roads were both teams scored well above 200
sensible-indian Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 If he continues bowling like hes doing' date='hes got a good chance.Just need to keep attacking Maxwell. You cant contain him[/quote'] Maxwell will hit 2 sixes and make him bowl pies. Only hope is a surprise arm ball and carrom ball. Let's see. If he gets Maxwell out by proper flight and spin, then he has truly become one hell of a ODI bowler.

Lots of turn is a different case but Ashwin isn't going to get lots of turn here.
Crookbond Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Ashwin has this characteristic since his bachpan. W-rtb2ipORA
