Other day wasn't he the one who asked Dravid "what different field set you would have had against bangladesh in 2007 if you go back again" Is asking tough questions wrong?

The guy makes it a point to make a fool of himself every-time he steps into the comm box. He keeps downplaying the role of genuine pace in Indian success so far in the World cup. BCCI should relieve him of commentary duties before he embarrasses himself further.

Forever Indian Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 I remember in his initial days as Commentator he used to bring nothing new to the table and used to just support the points raised by other commentators and used to be diplomatic. Maybe someone gave him advice or he got an Eurerka moment from which he wanted to get an identity for himself as someone who 'calls a spade a spade'. In the end he has become a pessimistic commentator who talks mostly about the negatives of individuals or the game in general thinking he is being an unbiased commentator. Just in the recent QF game NZ vs WI when Williamson was batting they were showing that Williamson has the second highest batting average after Viv Richards for some period. It was shown as 60 innings for Williamson where he had an average around 58. Immediately Manju brushed aside the stats saying it was a very small sample size of around 30 tests only (???). Why would anyone show test stats in World Cup, Manju did not even think about that. He then realised that these were ODI stats after some commentator pointed out but still did not want to applaud Williamson's efforts and so remained quiet. Just a simple sample of how his mind has become tuned to undermine other's performance, even for a promising young lad like Williamson.

Manju has got a face you would love to punch .
