StriKe Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 On board QF 434/Sydney: If some are a tad concerned that India are facing Australia in the World Cup semi-final, here on Thursday, captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni definitely isn't in that category. Dhoni was his customary calm self as he quietly moved into his 28th row seat on the Airbus 330-200 flight from Melbourne. The flight, on Saturday afternoon, took 90 minutes. As Dhoni settled down, The Telegraph asked if he was relaxed ahead of yet another test in his eight years of captaining India. Smiling, Dhoni replied: "Relaxed, yes." Dhoni, however, was quieter than usual and happily accepted a bite of the salted biscuit offered by Shikhar Dhawan's infant son, Zoravar. Perhaps, Dhoni got reminded of daughter Ziva, whom he hasn't yet seen. Ziva was born a couple of days before India's first warm-up match, in Adelaide, making it impossible for Dhoni to rush home and return in time for the February 8 engagement against Australia. As India had fared poorly in the tri-series, it's possible that Dhoni's absence for one match (of not much consequence, really) would have created another controversy. Dhoni, therefore, put the country first and didn't give detractors the chance to have another go at him. One should add that Dhoni is understood to be "very distressed and hurt" by the treatment meted out to him by certain people while the Supreme Court was hearing the PIL filed by the Cricket Association of Bihar. Back to the Qantas flight... As the Board of Control for Cricket in India has allowed families to travel with the players, wife Ayesha and Zoravar are keeping Shikhar company. Ravichandran Ashwin's wife, Prithi, is also making use of the opportunity and spending time with one of the top performers in the World Cup. The flight took off around 1.15pm, but Qantas only offered a beef preparation and rice crackers, alongwith juices/soft drinks. Dhoni and the rest had no choice but to struggle with the small packet of rice crackers. No full service carrier in India would be so indifferent towards passengers on a flight around the conventional lunchtime. While Dhoni was quiet/relaxed on the flight, Suresh Raina (who is getting married days after the World Cup final), Ravindra Jadeja, Ashwin and Shikhar exchanged notes every now and then. In between, Shikhar got the chance to indulge in leg-pulling, targeting Raina and his upcoming marriage. On landing in Sydney, there were armed policemen to escort Dhoni and his team out of the terminal. Hardly any of the players were seen in the hotel (InterContinental) lobby in the evening, but team director Ravi Shastri was spotted having an animated discussion with assistant coach Sanjay Bangar and bowling coach Bharat Arun. Fine-tuning the strategy against Australia, possibly. http://www.telegraphindia.com/1150322/jsp/sports/story_10179.jsp#.VQ5st_mUfSE

Deleted_User_1 Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Maybe if they ate the beef, they might have had a chance! Daal roti doesn't cut it!, :giggle:
Number Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 probably the only one I think they have a few others too. Virgin Australia I know. There should be a few others too. Even in India we have around 10-12 which is comparatively smaller area wise.
sage Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Aussies are all:hitler::shout: :whine: MSD is like :beach: Win or lose no difference LOL Is that good? I would rather India had a passionate captain like AB ... Dhoni is far too lax

sage Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Yes I admit their performance was bad. But his confidence is inspiring, I don't get that with Dhoni who says things like "This is a game, sometimes we win, sometimes we lose", and "How is our fielding? Our good fielders will improve but our bad fielders will stay bad"
zubinpepsi Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 No worries... If we loose, IPL is in another week.. Go :csk:
