Guest 3stumps Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Trishul and Deewar is my all time favorite.
Khalpat Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 My Favourite in terms of Dialogue delivery: Deewar : Main aaj bhi Phainke huay paise nahi uthata Sholay : Tumhara naam kya hai Basanti Trishul : Aapse 5 lakh ka sauda karne aaya hoon aur mere jabe main 5 phoonti kauri nahi hai Zanjeer : Ye Police Station hai tumhare baap ka ghar nahi Anand : Ek mara nahi ki doosra paida ho gaya marne ke liye Sarkar : Aur sun tere ko bhi nahi karne doonga Kabhi Kabhi : The Kabhi Kabhi poem Silsila : The lines recited by Amitabh in between the song Ye kahan aa gaye hum Sharabi : Aaj itne bhi maikas nahi hain maikhane main jitne kabhi **** diya karte thay paimane main Khaki : Agar police wala chahe to koi ek bache ka khilouna bhi nahi cheen sakta
mhr123 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Surprising why Amitabh's "Shakti" with Dilip Kumar is so under rated.... its has the best dialogue delivery.
zen Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Surprising why Amitabh's "Shakti" with Dilip Kumar is so under rated.... its has the best dialogue delivery. Oh yeah, forgot to mention Shakti .... I guess many people consider it as more of a Dilip Kumar film so overlook to include it as amongst AB's good movies (probably to an extend like Anand or Namak Haram where they think it is more of a Rajesh Khanna film) :dontknow:
maniac Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Recently saw abhimaan on tv....what a fantastic performance by amitabh....just the subtlety with which he shows his jealousy and ego at his wife' success (and this during the days when melodramatic was the way to go )was fantastic and way ahead of its times. No young hero from the current generation will be able to pull of that role....probably one of his best roles that tapped into his acting potential
Cricketics Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 I thought Chupke Chupke was brilliant movie too.
P.B. Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Amitabh be like to Bangladesh, Rishtay mein toh hum tumhary baap lagtay hain :cantstop:
dial_100 Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 ^ Indeed. But that was more Dharam paaji. AB had a small role in it. * Sholay * Deewar * Mukaddar ka Sikander * Don * Amar Akbar Anthony * Sharabi * Satte Pe Satta * Namak Halaal * Laawaris * Shankti These are my fav. But next 10 are more or less equally good. I am a big AB fan. Best actor and his comedy roles were pretty different from others.
zen Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 I used to love AB's entry scenes in the 70s movies: E8mH94G2c4k ^ and that background score
game_changerr Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Oh yeah' date=' forgot to mention Shakti .... goose Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Surprising why Amitabh's "Shakti" with Dilip Kumar is so under rated.... its has the best dialogue delivery. I've always said the scene where he attends his mother's funeral is one of the most moving scenes in Bollywood.
zen Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 In Johnny Lever speak - Yusuf bhai ne kachcha kha gya lambu ko Dilip Kumar is Dilip Kumar .... AB did well though to give a good account of himself in the film WTBGOhB3Fvw In a way, Shakti was like Deewar. In Shakti, it is father (police) vs. son (gangster); while in Deewar, it is brother (police) vs. brother (gangster) Even the end is similar - mom gets killed by the villian, AB avenges; gf gets killed by villian, AB avenges. in the end AB gets killed by the police (father/brother) But still both the films are :woot: in their own way
zen Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 J-Rl1H3sejg ^ AB in Deewar .... In fact, many of the AB films or characters are loosely inspired by Deewar, which is why I rate his performance in Deewar as probably his best .... Billa #786 :--D
maniac Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Am I the only one who likes AMitabh in his more subdued performances than his over the top ones Eg; Deewar,AAA,Naseeb,Sharaabi etc. or more recently Black,Sarkar etc. For Eg; Sholay,Abhimaan,Anand,Namak Haram etc. rank as some of his finest performances
Temujin Khaghan Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 amitabh - salim/javed combo movies are the best lawaris, aaa , namak halal are more silly i dont like even a single movie amitabh did with yash chopra. sarkar is a decent freemake of godfather sholay is nice. amitabh-dharmendra > amitabh-vinod khanna > amitabh-shashi kapoor > meh > amitabh-srk anand was nice
