gattaca Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Look at the condition of those police officers. Stomach bulging out of their trousers. So ill-prepared. It's a miracle that India doesn't get attacked everyday. It's like everyone is sleep walking. Attack happens, everyone is active for few days then back to "Chalta hai" attitude. No coordination, no system in place...everyone is just going about their days. How many did you see stomach bulging out ? This is a poor excuse. I see US police officers who are fat as well. It just these hardworking folks lack equipment ,training and proper working hours.
Tiger80 Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Feeling sad for CNN-IBN and likes, some of our resident ICF posters were also in rush to label it as Khalistan Terrorist attack. CNN-IBN repeatedly shouted 'Sikh' Militants. Khalistan support in Punjab is like a random person in the metro wearing a Che Guevera T-shirt having nothing to do with communism. More than 90% Punjabi Sikhs do passively support the Khalistan movement but don't really do anything about it. In Pakistan, there was a movement known as the Jinnahpur movement. People of Karachi and Punjab know realities, but remaining of Pakistan and India still believes in false accusation of Jinnahpur and Khalistan. The Sikhs have always served the country and to treat them in such a manner is a national shame. The mainstream media should know how to deal with their own nationals and how to treat them. If the Indian Government was to re-gain the confidence of the Sikhs, by bringing to justice those responsible for the massacre of innocent Sikhs, support for Khalistan (as a separate country) would naturally disappear; the harsh reality, however, is that Indian Government will never will be able to given justice to the Sikhs. Sikhs who have already served over and above any sentence considered to be life imprisonment in various Indian Jails should be freed. Not true , It is mostly sikhs living outside India that support Khalistan. A new party in Punjab AAP got 4 Lok sabha seats than Parties like Simranjeet singh Mann's Akali Dal who can't even win state assembly seats . there was a time Mann was very big leader

I have met few Punjabi folks they could care less. But they didn't like jagadish tytler escaping scott free. One of the reasons congress will never win in Punjab. They are smart people they know they are better off with India as opposed to Kashmir people who fall for religion.
Shivaji bhonsle Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 When ever there is a terrorist attack' date=' you can be certain that there are Muslims involved. No surprises there.[/quote'] Mmm. So, they must be enjoying hoors in the heaven now. Lucky people.
Gollum Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Sikhs are the most patriotic people I have come across. Pity that they haven't got justice for 1984 riots, bloody Congress has dragged this country down the drains. Khalistan movement is a midget movement these days, a few thousand people in Canada/UK/Jammu won't change that.
The Realist Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 When is Modi going to man up and call Israel on how to respond to such atrocities? Or is he going to do a Manmohan and sit on his rear end doing nothing? Time to bear the chest.
surajmal Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 If this govt. was serious about dealing with the Jihadi adda next door, plans were already afoot in dealing with the menace, fruits of which will be visible in the coming years (since previous govts' treacherous policies completely left the country devoid of a sharp stick). But if you see loud noises and border hotting up (for anything other than retaliation for cross border firing), I have no hope.

The Caged parrot has already filed closure report in case of Tytler 4 months ago and they refused to file FIR related to other allegations.
dial_100 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I doubt that there is any easy way to incapacitate terrorist like using knockout gas or something. Best is to devise a best plan and then when such attack happens, contact one center agency and deal through them. If purpose was to tire them then they should have used some science to tackle the situation. Anyways, we will learn from all this for sure. In the mean time, would CO2 work I they are cornered in a room and then CO2 is used to incapacitate terrorists? RIP.
Texy Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Meanwhile, major denial and shouts of propaganda coming from the padosis & few Kashmiri traitors.
Raghav_12 Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Death of police personnel including a brave officer of rank of SP needs to be looked with great concern and reflects bad on preparedness of our law enforcement and security agencies. It is shocking to know that SP died while he had rushed to site to flush terrorists out. I can accept our police/security personnel dying in ambush attack or in situations where they were caught unaware. But death of a senior rank personnel when they are rushed to the site as a response to the situation, there should be very little chance of casualties. It had happened during Mumbai Attack as well when officers like Hemant Karkare died when he had to engage Terrorists who had best prepared in his normal plain police gears. Same seemed to have happened with SP Baljit Singh. I don't have much understanding of rifles and as per reports he was fighting AK 47s with SLR. Are they at par?

Our police is not trained to fight terrorists. They are mostly for local law and order situation. Constables patrol with a wood stick in their hands. We need more NSG units or a special force to fight terrorism.

rkt.india Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 that's why I am surprised that why an SP had to rush in response of this attack by dreaded terrorists. Audacity, overconfidence, adrenaline rush that can make one ignore the consequences.
Khalpat Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 that's why I am surprised that why an SP had to rush in response of this attack by dreaded terrorists. Police is the first point of contact in any city. They cannot wait for army or nsg to arrive and let terrorist do the damage. Unfortunately we do not know in which city the next strike would be so cannot deploy special forces at all places. The corrupt "Thulla" will have to take first blow. The best we can do is to train police personnel so that we have minimum damage.

What changes now? Kandhar, Kargil, 26/11?. What happened after these?

Indian police personnel fighting with Jihadists with their current level of preparedness is doesn't reflect well on our preparedness. As per the details I read, SP himself was not in the town of attack and had rushed from some other place. Attack started at 535 and SP was there around 6 and he was fighting in the front at least until 9 30. Why police had to be in the front even after good four hours since attack. I understand that Police has to do whatever in its capacity to stop killings immediately. But in this case SP had rushed from some other place. I think we should be in position to mobilize better prepared forces in this much time, particularly at a place which is just few miles away both from international border and J&K border. By putting police in bare essentials in front of well prepared Jihadists we are betraying our police forces.

As soon as Army person arrive, the DIG of Police who would be incharge till that point hands it over to the Army. In this case, my guess is till the time army came into picture maximum possible casuality was already done. Since there was no hostage situation and terrorists were already cornered, the DIG did not handed over the charge to Army it could be the fact they wanted to take revenge of the killing of their officer by themselve. Yes, I completely agree with the current level of preparedness. The pictures show most of the police personnel seemed to be heavily over weight with latest Rifle and terrorist were of the age group 23-24 with good built and AK-47. The SWAT team of Punjab also seemed to be a bit unproffesional and most of them were not even wearing Bullet Proof vest. The police person whose picture is shown throwing hand grenade seemed really that he was doing this for the first time, while running backwards his one hand was on his belt as it seemed due to big belly the trouser was uncomfortable. Its really sad that even after 26/11, we have not learnt lessons.
The Realist Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Gunmen who carried out India's Punjab attack were Muslim Three gunmen who fought a 12-hour battle on Monday near the Pakistan border were Muslim, the Punjab police chief said on Tuesday. "The inspection of the bodies shows that the assailants were Muslims," said Sumedh Singh Saini, director general of police in the northern state, speaking to reporters at the police station that came under attack. Ten people, including four police, three civilians and the three militants, were killed in a prolonged battle that began early on Monday morning, the first of its kind in Indian Punjab in more than a decade. http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/07/28/us-india-attack-idUSKCN0Q221720150728
zen Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 If I am not wrong, Punjab Police actually stopped the para-military / army to step in to the operation citing that it is their operation .... the army was asked to form the perimeter Later the SWAT team arrived but again they sported no real protection The Punjab Police / SWAT, looking at their preparation both in terms of physical and resources, could have allowed the army to take over the operation Overall, the police forces and SWAT were neither equipped properly nor trained well enough to handle such operations. More resources should be allocated with proper operating procedures once the army arrives at the scene
