kosingh Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Aggression is about barking at opponents, trying to hit fours and sixes, and it's about bowling wild short balls. It's not about making declarations that give you a chance to win. It's not about setting attacking wicket taking fields. And it's not about picking an XI that gives you the best chance to win. Sorry ICF, you have it all wrong!
BeautifulGame Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 We scored 15 runs in last 5 overs before declaration. Not sure what the aim was by plodding along without any intent
Vijy Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 We scored 15 runs in last 5 overs before declaration. Not sure what the aim was by plodding along without any intent The aim was to ensure a draw if possible... this is the new "aggression" that was promised.
jusarrived Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 I don't think the declaration was that bad , certainly not aggressive but under normal circumstances 115 overs is good amount of time to take 10 wicket also ensuring SL plays for the draw all through which will allow virat to attack
Shivaji bhonsle Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Fecking losers. As soon as people come to ICF, they start using such language.

sensible-indian Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 As soon as people come to ICF' date=' they start using such language. [/quote'] Cos its allowed here. And sometimes you need to vent out your frustration. :haha:
Vijy Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Has been bowling Ashwin from wrong end throughout. The fact that he got 2 wickets was in spite of this decision, not because of it. Should have at least changed ends after Sanga's dismissal but still kept him on.
ravishingravi Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 I think from the looks of things he is our least bad choice. India needs an old timer coach for test cricket. Most of our players don't have the cricketing intelligence which comes from playing tough cricket in all conditions. IPL has softened the brains to large extent. Virat also doesn't have much of cricketing brain. He "shows" aggression. That's it. But with 413 on board, he has three fielders on boundary Matthews comes in. His batting also is sorted in not flat conditions against better than average bowlers. Which is not to say that there is no hope. It is just that I don't see it. Even if we had the best captain in the world, our current crop of cricketers are too soft for test cricket.
swatpulla Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 ICFs always known to be this uber chic 3 page socialite that prefers a chianti on a late Tuesday evening in a see through dress - dramebaaz :haha: all of us fit right in :giggle: Haha :icflove:
sensible-indian Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 I liked his attacking field placements. Very proactive. But his bowler rotation skills are garbage. Doesn't know when to use whom. Hope he learns.
putrevus Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Sorry not impressed at with this guy's captaincy. He is too impatient on the field and has no set idea on what he wants his team to do.He just is doing random things. Aggression is not shouting or swearing. It is about playing every match to win and forcing his players to be more proactive.

I felt that Umesh, Ishant and Binny were poorly employed this match; as well as Mishy in the 1st innings.
Bigg Brother Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 What is his obsession with Ishant?Who will give last over of the day to ishant?
Bigg Brother Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Didn't like his bowling Changes. Although Rahane scored century, didn't aggree with him sending at 3.It makes lower order extremely fragile. And he sent him that too protect talent.Watched video on cricinfo Agrakar saying that it was unfair to send Rahane in order to protect rohit and if he wanted to,then Kohli himself should have come out at 3 as he talks lot about Aggression amd positivity.(smiling) Completely agree with Agarakar.
