So batsmen got out not because of their poor shots but because of him. BTW, those batsmen were not scoring at the pace of lightening. You do understand these days ODIs are not just about first 10 overs of PP. Full 50 overs are a PP now and keeping wickets in hand is important even if you are slow at the start because that is when you are at vulnerable best. You can score anything in last 15 if you wickets in hand.

Even Varun Aaron was able to take singles last match just by tipping. Without singles you cannot construct big innings frequently. Even in his 200 he hit 16 sixes.. He depends a lot on sixes than singles.

I don't think this was a decent innings by any stretch he almost got out so many times and scratched at other times; he is getting so many chances but the improvement is just not there I would pick Rohit @ home but overseas he is not the right pick

The problem I think is, if he starts prodding for singles he is very susceptible to nicking behind to slips or keeper. That's why hes either full face of the bat or nothing.

Should have converted this to a 100. Wonder why everyone's blaming him for Kohli and Rahane's dismissals. Both got out trying to hook/pull too early in their innings without settling down.

Yes, nudging and dropping the ball and taking singles is his biggest problem. Problem with is he plays with very straight bat and lacks the wrist work to place the ball in the gaps like SRT, Viru, Kohli, and Pujara do. He needs to address that, otherwise his ODI career wont last that long. You cannot hit boundaries everywhere in different conditions.
